Ben Askren V Jake Paul Fight Presents Opportunity For Bettors In New Jersey

YouTube influencer and novice professional boxer Jake Paul may see his first loss this Saturday night but it doesn’t have to be an L for New Jersey sports bettors. Askren v Paul comes with one of DraftKings Sportsbook‘s best promotional deals.

DraftKings has used its Bet $1 Win $100 in connection to many events before. The terms of the deal in this instance make it almost a no-brainer for any eligible individuals in the Garden State, even if they aren’t familiar with either competitor.

Bet $1 Win $100 for Askren v Paul

Paul’s career as a boxer doesn’t rival his accomplishments as a YouTube content creator, yet. Paul is 2-0 but those victories came over another YouTube influencer and former NBA player. He’s never faced anyone with the combat sports credentials of Ben Askren.

The fight should go down Saturday, April 17, from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The card launches at 9 p.m. ET, with three preliminaries set to precede the main event. Fans can stream it pay-per-view on Triller Fight Club in the United States.

The Bet $1 Win $100 offer is live now for this event but only for DraftKings customers who have never made deposits before. To take advantage of the deal, make a first deposit of at least $5 into your existing or new account.

Then, bet at least $1 on either side of the moneyline for the fight. If either fighter lands a punch at any point during the fight, DraftKings will credit your account with four $25 free bets. If you stake the winning fighter, you will also get your normal payout from that wager.

Even if you lose that bet, though, you still get the promotional credit as long as there’s a punch landed during the fight. Other conditions of this promo you should be aware of include:

  • You must place your wager by 9 p.m. ET on Saturday
  • Promotional credit is valid for seven days. Any unused free bets expire after that period
  • The free bets cannot be redeemed for cash
  • Promotional credit will not be included in payouts from subsequent winning bets

In looking at Saturday’s main event, it’s fair to ask whether Askren has an advantage given his experience in MMA. It’s also fair to take that with a grain of salt.

Why bettors shouldn’t sell Paul short in this bout

Askren may have competed in the UFC but it hasn’t been anything to write home about. Jorge Masvidal dismissed Askren in five seconds with a flying knee, then in the next fight, Demian Maia secured a win via Askren’s submission. That was back in 2019. Askren hasn’t entered the Octagon since.

Paul’s list of opponents in the boxing ring hasn’t been the stuff of legends but he has dispatched both of his opponents via knockout. Paul is also three inches taller and has a reach that is four inches longer than Askren’s.

At the same time, prior to his consecutive defeats, Askren rolled off 19 straight victories. Six of those came by knockout and another six were via submission. Neither fighter has ever competed in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium before.

The question for bettors to answer on this fight is whether Paul can maintain his momentum or Askren can regain his earlier form. For first-time depositors on DraftKings, though, it’s all about hoping the two fighters pull no punches.
