Stephanie Loder

Stephanie Loder is a freelance writer for PlayNJ. She provides coverage of New Jersey’s Atlantic City casinos while also focusing on the beach, boardwalk, and special gaming events. Prior to writing for PlayNJ, she covered Atlantic City government, breaking news, and casinos for The Press of Atlantic City in Pleasantville, N.J.

She was part of the team coverage during the first-day celebration of Resorts International, the first casino to operate in Atlantic City. She has reported on the openings of Playboy, Tropicana, Golden Nugget, Claridge, and Bally’s casinos in Atlantic City and the demolition of Trump Plaza when it was imploded in 2021. Loder has worked in New Jersey as Assistant Managing Editor at The Press of Atlantic City, as Managing Editor of The Ocean City Sentinel in Ocean City N.J., and as Local News Editor at The Fayetteville Observer in North Carolina.

She broke into journalism as a municipal beat reporter at the Courier-Post in Cherry Hill N.J., The Gloucester County Times in Woodbury, N.J., The Vineland Daily Journal in Vineland, N.J., and the Asbury Park Press in Neptune, N.J. Loder has been published in Firehouse Magazine, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Catholic Star Herald, and the National Catholic Register.

She received her bachelor’s degree from Stockton University in Pomona, N.J. Based in Egg Harbor Township, N.J., she and her husband, Bill, are NASCAR enthusiasts and travel each season to racetracks along the East Coast. They are the parents of four children, two grandchildren, and three rescue dogs Seamus, Shaena, and Jack.
