That total makes it the largest online progressive jackpot currently in the US. It will be quite a haul when those reels line up just right.
The jackpot is available exclusively on five of BetMGM’s in-house network slots in New Jersey. BetMGM is a product of Roar Digital, a joint venture between MGM Resorts and GVC Holdings.
Roar Digital gaming director Matthew Sunderland talked about the growing jackpot in a news release:
“It’s extremely exciting to see our casino jackpot prize pool reach this monumental amount. It’s a true testament to the great exclusive game titles that we’re offering across BetMGM’s casino platforms.”
Playing for a BetMGM monster payout
Obviously there’s no timetable on the progressive payout, but someone in the Garden State is going to be very happy.
The New Jersey BetMGM slots featuring this ultimate prize include:
- Melon Madness
- Luck of the Jackpot
- Biker Pigs
- LootEn’ Khamun
- Going Nuts
While all five games are popular with players, Sunderland told PlayNJ that Loot’en Khamun and Melon Madness are “constant performing slot titles.” Players can also achieve other big payouts on all five slots.
“There are a number of wins built into the slot games a player can achieve, the top of those being $3 million,” Sunderland says.
How does a progressive slot work?
Those new to slot machines may not be familiar with progressives. In these types of games, the jackpot grows as players put money in and play.
A small percentage is used to grow the jackpot until someone hits it big. That same system applies to online and live slots.
“There’s no difference in accounting for the jackpot,” Sunderland says. “We accrue money to pay out jackpot wins.
“Some slot games that are live in Vegas, such as IGT’s Megabucks, have seen winners up to $31 million. The current Megabucks jackpot is at $14.7 million across about 30 casinos in Nevada.”
Dreaming of a jackpot
Can the NJ online casino jackpot climb that high? It seems unlikely but certainly, one player will be assured a nice score.
New Jersey online slots produced one multi-millionaire so far this year and it is about to get another.
So, what would that $3 million get you?
How about a four-pack of primo season tickets on the 50-yard-line at a Giants, Jets, Eagles game for the next 20 years. You’d still have plenty left over.
Gearheads may have an amazing sports car in mind. Prices for a 2020 Ferrari 812 Superfast start at around $330,000. The jackpot would afford enough for the whole family.
Those with children approaching college age could certainly afford an Ivy League education – graduate school too.
Or maybe a nice winter getaway seems a better fit. Just $1 million of that jackpot could land you an amazing home on the beach in the Bahamas.
Everyone can have some jackpot dreams, and BetMGM wants to make them come true.
