New Jersey poker players have a chance to win some serious cash this summer in Las Vegas.
BetMGM and Aria have teamed up to give players an incredible opportunity to compete in the BetMGM Poker Championship live event in Las Vegas this summer.
For the entire month of May, NJ online poker grinders can enter daily mega-qualifiers for as little as $2 for a chance to win a $6,500 Las Vegas Poker Package.
“It’s great to bring BetMGM players back to Las Vegas during one of poker’s most exciting times of the year,” Luke Staudenmaier, director of poker for BetMGM, said in a release.
“For a second straight year, Aria is delivering a Championship event and we are happy to continue to build on our relationship with MGM Resorts, while connecting BetMGM online players to the best poker rooms in the United States.”
How to qualify via NJ poker
Individuals who are situated within the borders of New Jersey have the ability to participate in the series qualifiers by means of three distinct poker skins.
Throughout the entirety of the month, players located in New Jersey can strive to attain the $6,500 package prize.

For players who win a package, it includes a $3,500 entry to the BetMGM Poker $2 million guaranteed championship held at Aria Resort and Casino June 7-13 in Las Vegas. It also contains an $800 Mystery Bounty tournament entry for June 8, a six-night hotel stay at Aria, a BetMGM swag bag and travel expenses.
“Partnering with BetMGM for another summer championship is a tremendous opportunity for us to offer poker players a one-of-a-kind experience,” said Sean McCormack, director of poker strategy for MGM Resorts.

To participate, simply log in to your BetMGM Poker account and register for qualifier tournaments via cash buy-in or Tournament Dollars. To be eligible, you must be 21 years of age or older and playing within the state of New Jersey.
Online weekly qualifiers available at BetMGM Poker
BetMGM will host daily satellites to get into their weekly Sunday online $600 qualifier events. These events will award winners directly with a package.
“BetMGM is excited to offer players online with a live experience in Las Vegas this summer,” said BetMGM Poker representative Will O’Connor. “It allows for poker players a chance to get into the Aria Championship for as little as $2.”
These $600 qualifiers run every Sunday in May, including:

The Aria poker packages are non-negotiable, non-refundable and non-transferable. Unused Aria lodging will not be credited, and travel expenses ($500) will be credited directly to the player’s account.

Recapping the 2022 BetMGM Championship
Last year in the inaugural event, players also won seats to the big tournament. Benji Felson, a resident of New Jersey, was one of the individuals who qualified for the 2022 tournament.
Felson’s participation in the championship in Las Vegas was secured by participating in a $500 online tournament, where he won his seat. Out of the 343 entries who were included in the event, 68 were individuals who, like Felson, had qualified online. Felson ultimately managed to secure fifth place in the championship, earning a prize of $51,587.
Following his win and subsequent acquisition of a large sum of money, Felson appeared somewhat stunned during an interview with BetMGM.
“Everything here was great and hopefully I’ll be back,” he said.
In the end, New York’s Joey Weissman emerged victorious in the championship and earned $224,236 for his success. This year, the organizers are confident in their aspirations and raised the guaranteed prize pool even higher to $2 million.
