BetMGM Poker has announced its first major series of 2023. The BetMGM Winter Poker Championship will be one of the biggest series in the Garden State, offering more than $700,00 in guaranteed prizes.
The tournament series is taking place from Jan. 12-22 and will include 24 events. Half of those events are official trophy tournaments and will reward winners with some nice hardware.

BetMGM Winter Poker Championship Main Event
On Jan. 22., the main event in the series will be the $1,000 Championship with a guaranteed prize pool of $175,000. There will also be other events with buy-ins ranging from $100 to $2,500, featuring a variety of games such as Pot-Limit Omaha, No Limit Holdem, Progressive Knockout, Freezeouts, and High Rollers. Other standout events include:
- $500 NLHE (Event 1, Jan. 12) – $40,000 guaranteed
- $250 PLO Six-Max (Event 7, Jan. 15) – $20,000 guaranteed
- $2,500 NLHE High Roller (Event 8, Jan. 15) –$100,000 guaranteed
- $500 NLHE (Event 16, Jan. 19) – $40,000 guaranteed

Bonuses and satellites
A little early bird bonus is also available for players participating in trophy events. According to the BetMGM Poker website;
“All TROPHY events will feature Early Bird Registration – meaning players registered at the start of the event will receive 100% rake back!”
If the buy-ins for some of these events are too expensive for your bankroll, BetMGM is offering satellite events with buy-ins starting at $5. Additionally, players who participate in any $100 tournament will qualify for the Pick a Card promotion, which gives players a daily chance to win a $1,000 championship ticket.

The series will also take place in Pennsylvania and Michigan, but will play independent from the New Jersey series. Guarantees may differ per state.
