Posted on September 28, 2020 - Last Updated on October 18, 2020

How’s THIS for a three-pointer? DraftKings Sportsbook is offering new users potentially triple winnings with a special NBA Finals promotion.

It spans the championship series that begins Wednesday between the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat.

And it boils down to a 200% profit boost. And no, that’s not a typo.

How to get a DraftKings profit boost of 200%

The great thing about this 200% NBA Finals profit boost at DraftKings is that it’s easy.

Once a new account at DraftKings is created, users will be issued a single-use 200% profit boost to use on any* NBA Finals market.

Customers must select the boost from their bet slip before placing the bet to apply the boosted price. And there are, of course, other rules and terms and conditions:

  • The 200% profit boost will apply to the winnings (winnings exclude your original bet).
  • The maximum bet is $50, and the maximum winnings are $500. One qualifying bet per user.

Now, there is that asterisk above because not every market is actually available. It includes live bets and parlays, which incentivizes users to extend their tickets beyond a straight moneyline or spread bet. Put some wagers together, hit them all and receive a super-multiplier effect of the bonus.

But the offer excludes free bets, cash-out bets, voided bets and odds boosts. The 200% profit boost expires at the end of the NBA Finals.

Lakers a big betting draw for NBA Finals

New Jersey online sports betting sites themselves received a boost Saturday night when the popular Lakers advanced to the finals by dispatching the Denver Nuggets in five games to win the Western Conference. The Heat won the topsy-turvy Eastern Conference on Sunday night by eliminating the Boston Celtics in six games.

Upsets marked the East, as the conference final was conducted between the No. 3 and No. 5 seeds.

While the books have more exposure with the Lakers, who are used on countless parlay tickets and have been the season-long favorite to win the NBA title, the Lakers also give them a marquee team to promote.

The Lakers’ success guarantees more participation in promotions designed to attract new users.

Some Lakers betting background: They lost the first series games against the Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets before subduing both teams in five games. They also finished the feisty Denver Nuggets in five games, and in four of them, the game total exceeded 220 points.

That’s good to know for over-under point totals in the NBA Finals, especially if there’s a DraftKings profit boost attached to it.

The Nuggets had already done the Lakers and the books a favor, knocking out the Los Angeles Clippers, who had the second-lowest odds on NBA futures. The Clippers received betting support similar to the Lakers’ all season. And it looked to many as though the Clippers and Lakers were the NBA’s top teams.

It also appeared they would face each other in the conference finals.

But the Nuggets torched those plans with an unlikely rally from a 3-1 series deficit. They notched three straight triumphs, including a 15-point margin in the series finale. The Nuggets had also gotten off the deck to nudge the Utah Jazz in seven games after trailing 3-1 in the series.

But the Lakers prevented the Nuggets from doing it a third time.

Lakers vs. Heat: triple winnings at DraftKings

Both NBA finalists are 12-3 in the postseason.

While the Lakers prevailed as the front-runner, the Heat reached the conference summit all the way from the five seed.

The Heat unfurled an Eastern Conference Cinderella story. They started by sweeping the Indiana Pacers in four games in the opening round.

Then they raised eyebrows by stunning the Bucks in five games to advance to the conference semifinals. Milwaukee had a league-best 56-17 season prior to the playoffs and was heavily favored against Miami.

While the Heat removed the Bucks, the Boston Celtics toppled the defending champion and second-seeded Toronto Raptors in seven tight games.

That put the third-seeded Celtics and fifth-seeded Heat in the conference finals. And the Heat kept rolling. Bam Adebayo had 32 points and Jimmy Butler 22 as the Heat finished off the Celtics, 125-113, in Game 6.

Now it’s on to the NBA Finals, with a 200% DraftKings profit boost to boot. Triple the fun.
