The DraftKings Super Pool contest appears to be an early- to late-season NJ online sports betting version of the popular Westgate Las Vegas SuperContest.
The SuperContest features a $1,500 entry fee and asks competitors to make five picks against the spread each week throughout the entire NFL regular season.
That’s not the case for this New Jersey Super Pool contest. Here’s more:
How to play the DraftKings Sportsbook Super Pool
It costs only $500 to enter the DraftKings Super Pool, and it doesn’t start until Week 4 of the NFL regular season.
Plus, instead of five picks against the spread each week, DraftKings Super Pool competitors can pick as many games against the spread as they like every week.
However, each player’s total must add up to 70 games by the end of Week 17. That means no weekly pick requirements; just 70 picks total.

The $1 million prize pool
Like the SuperContest, DraftKings Super Pool will feature escalating payouts. The DraftKings Super Pool will pay the top 149 finishers guaranteeing minimum cash of at least $1,000 to the 149th-place finisher.
The $1 million guaranteed prize pool is really just the beginning. There is a guaranteed $250,000 first prize attached. Plus, DraftKings promises the prize pool and all prizes will be even bigger if the entry fees it collects exceed $1 million.
No matter what happens, the first-place will equal 25% of the prize pool. Second gets 15% and third collects 10%.
Each user can enter the DraftKings Super Pool up to three times.
Of course, you must be 21 or older, inside New Jersey, and a DraftKings Sportsbook account holder to enter. Then, you’ve got to make sure you’re in New Jersey often enough to log into your account and make 70 picks prior to the end of Week 17.
The NFL’s Week 17 features 16 games all on Sunday, Dec. 29.
Sportsbook pools started a year ago at DraftKings
To be sure, this is not the first instance of a sportsbook pool at DraftKings. Last year, DraftKings launched its casual pools contests.
In the November 2018 release, DraftKings explained that the new product “will provide the opportunity to bet on games like the ones often enjoyed among coworkers in office pools, offering fans a more casual alternative to navigating odds and point spreads.”
The first contest included a $20 entry fee and a minimum of $200,000 prize pool. There have been other pools since then. But this DraftKings Super Pool goes above and beyond the inaugural contest.
And all it requires is a DraftKings Sportsbook account and your feet inside state lines.
