Major news was announced recently that a major tournament series was happening this fall: Borgata will host the Fall Mini Series Sept. 26-Oct.1.
“We talked to a lot of players, to see what events they missed the most,” said Kellie Decilis, Borgata’s Director of Poker Operations. “We are going to have a 8-max Championship event, PLO/ No limit Holdem Mix and a $1,000 bounty.”
The live event series will take place at the Borgata in Atlantic City. There will also be live NJ online poker qualifier satellite events. Prize pools are listed as $1 million in guaranteed payouts for the events.
Saturday Series and Main Event on Borgata poker schedule
The biggest tournament of the Borgata poker Fall Series will be the 8 Max Championship from Sept. 27-30. The $2,500 buy-in event will showcase a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The highly anticipated Saturday Series is also coming back. The pre-pandemic event was always popular, due to it being a one-day event. Weekend Warriors come out to these events in droves. This event will take place on Sept. 30 and will cost $800. It comes with a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Online satellites and buy-ins
New Jersey poker players online will have a chance to win a buy-in via online satellites as well.
The winners of these online events will be placed directly into the live main event.
Starting the weekend of Sept. 8, BetMGM will host online qualifiers into the main event. Online satellites are a great chance for players to enter big events without putting their whole bankroll on the line.
Details of online registration
Online registration will be available starting Sept.17 for the 8-Max Championship and the Saturday Series event. Live in person registration starts Jan. 2. According to the Borgata site:
“BEAT THE LINES: All Players registering through the BetMGM Poker App on or before Saturday, September 23 will be provided with exclusive Early Bird seat pick up starting Sunday, September 24, plus collectible BetMGM Poker swag.”
Live NJ poker qualifiers at Borgata Atlantic City
For those players that would rather win a seat by qualifying live, Borgata has them covered. Starting Sept. 25, Borgata Atlantic City will host live satellites. They will range from $75 to $450.

Winter open announced on podcast
With January only four months away, players have been asking if Borgata will bring back a full Winter Series Open.
Recently, Kellie DeCelis went on the Nerdthusiast Poker Podcast to announce the mini series. She spilled the beans that the Winter Open was returning and this time it would be a multi week event series.
