FanDuel Standalone Online Casino App Now Available To New Jersey Gamblers

Posted By David Danzis on July 27, 2021

A standalone FanDuel online casino product is now available on Android, iOS, and desktops in New Jersey.

Call it a slight change from the previous setup. The company officially announced the news on Monday.

FanDuel Casino initially debuted within the FanDuel Sportsbook app in the Garden State. Online casino players can still access the offerings via the sportsbook app.

The standalone FanDuel casino app includes staples like blackjack, roulette, video poker, and slots. New Jersey joins Pennsylvania, Michigan, and West Virginia as the markets in which the product is available.

Online gambling in NJ is a runaway (revenue) train

Already the online sports betting leader in NJ, FanDuel is also looking to capitalize on the state’s internet casino market.

When brick-and-mortar casinos in Atlantic City closed last year because of the pandemic, online gambling in NJ exploded. That momentum has carried over into 2021. Online casino operators in NJ have collectively reported more than $100 million in revenue five of the first six months this year.

New Jersey online gambling is on pace to exceed $1 billion of annual revenue in 2021.

FanDuel is NJ’s #1 Sportsbook

FanDuel Group is a subsidiary of international sports betting and gaming operator Flutter Entertainment plc.

The FanDuel Sportsbook app is available in NJ via the Meadowlands Racetrack’s sports wagering license. Additionally, the North Jersey racetrack has a FanDuel-branded retail sportsbook.

However, the company now has a presence with Atlantic City customers as well. Following a change in ownership, Bally’s Atlantic City unveiled a FanDuel-branded retail book.

FanDuel Online Casino in NJ

The iCasino lineage of FanDuel is slightly more complex.

Flutter owns the BetFair casino brand, which was available in NJ via Golden Nugget Atlantic City’s casino license. After the FanDuel Sportsbook app launch in NJ, online casino players were redirected from the book to BetFair.

In late-2020, Flutter acquired the iconic Stardust Casino brand. Then, BetFair was phased out from the FanDuel Sportsbook and sent players to the new brand.

With the launch of the standalone FanDuel casino, players can now either access it directly or use Stardust Online Casino.
