Hard Rock Online Casino Pays Out Divine Fortune Jackpot To Furloughed Worker

Written By Bill Gelman on April 10, 2020 - Last Updated on October 29, 2020

Hard Rock Casino Online continues to share feel-good customer experiences while the COVID-19 pandemic keeps Atlantic City properties closed.

The latest involves a furloughed worker named Gary M, who turned a $5 bet playing Divine Fortune into a $230,552.71 payout.

Lee Terfloth, vice president of online gaming product for Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, referred to it as a “good-news story” and “one of many more to come.”

“We’re very proud to be able to offer large jackpots like this one, as well as be a part of a life-changing moment during these trying times.”

Big month for Hard Rock players

The Divine Fortune payout happens to be the largest jackpot in the online operator’s history. Last month, another customer won $226,170 while playing Lock It Link Night Life.

The two wins came within two weeks of one another.

“Hitting a jackpot like this is completely random, but we are happy that good fortune is being spread to players in the state of New Jersey,” said Terfloth.

“Our goal is to provide quality entertainment and unique experiences in a safe gaming environment. We’re focused on bringing the games home along with great experiences — and that includes big jackpots.”

Hard Rock AC customers play online

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy mandated that AC casinos close as of 8 p.m. March 16.

It’s all part of the quarantine and self-distancing measures used against the coronavirus.

The scenario has impacted four weeks of land-based business to date.

A clearer picture of the financial impact of this will come April 15 when the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement releases the March numbers.

The upside is NJ online casinos remain operational. Filling the gap from the loss of casino floor revenue and limited NJ sports betting options is a tough task for any operator.

But something is better than nothing.

Terfloth said they have seen more online activity since the Hard Rock AC property temporarily closed.

While we are unable to share any specific numbers with you, we can tell you that players are responding positively to our online offerings.”

As a whole, Hard Rock players are flocking to classic progressive jackpots “in droves.”

Divine Fortune is known for consistently having good traction.

According to Terfloth, online slot players have also taken a liking to these titles:

  • Bonanza
  • Mega Jackpot Cleopatra
  • Go Bananas!
  • Wild Fury Jackpots

Hard Rock live slots are a hit

As a whole, 2020 continues to be a landmark year for Hard Rock’s mobile casino operations.

In February, the casino became the first company worldwide to unveil a live slots studio

This is a way for players to continue playing popular machines from the gaming floors that had previously not been made available to online customers.

The titles include:

  • Leprecoins
  • Buffalo
  • Spitfire Multipliers
  • Hotter Than Blaze
  • 3x4x4x Double Times Pay

“It’s just one more way we’re creating something truly unique for players in New Jersey,” said Terfloth.

He notes that interest has definitely climbed since launching live slots.

And if we are basing it on numbers, Hard Rock certainly saw a significant internet gaming revenue jump the first two months of the year.

February numbers came in at $2.82 million, good enough for a 69.4% year-over-year increase.

January revenue was $2.46 million.

Based on the current situation, those numbers could continue increasing.

“But, before any closures, we definitely saw interest trend upwards, so it’s too early to tell,” said Terfloth.

“It’s very possible that some of the extra interest is fueled by the fact that casinos are currently closed and HardRockCasino.com is as real as it gets for slots players.”

Time for a ‘Heat Streak’

NJ online casino bonuses encourage players to keep coming back.

Hard Rock recently gave away $15K in live slots bonus cash.

The operator is currently offering a Heat Streak challenge.

Players log in daily and make a free over/under weather forecast prediction. The key is hitting a hot streak by guessing correctly for three-straight days.

Players can earn free spins on Jumanji that are worth 50 cents each.

Here is the prize breakdown:

  • Three correct picks in a row: 20 free spins
  • Five correct picks in a row: 30 free spins
  • 10 correct picks in a row: 50 free spins
  • 15 correct picks in a row: $50 in slots free play
  • 20 correct picks in a row: $100 in table games free play
  • 25 or more correct picks in a row: 15% cashback on net losses for all casino play (max $500 in cashback daily)

 When Hard Rock AC returns

Atlantic City casinos will eventually reopen its doors. The Hard Rock Atlantic City website is showing room availability starting May 1, but that is subject to change.

That decision will be up to state officials.

Once online and retail operations are running in synch again, Hard Rock will return to its balanced focus.

“Since coming online, we’ve been closely integrating our land-based and online experiences and ensuring that the two properties are tightly connected as opposed to running in silos. There is a lot of crossover that makes playing online and live so seamless,” said Terfloth.

“For example, comps and tier points can be earned online with wild card rewards to live slots and live dealer games. And we will continue to add additional benefits and features to make product improvements in the next few months to deepen this integration.”

Also, an occasional story about a player hitting for a life-changing jackpot is the bonus to the system.
