Golden Nugget Reaches Another Milestone With 500th NJ Online Casino Game

Written By Eric Ramsey on March 1, 2018

Golden Nugget online casino keeps raising the standards for New Jersey online gambling.

The market leader just rolled out its 500th desktop casino game on Wednesday, becoming the the first US operator to reach that mark. Its library of more than 300 NJ mobile casino games represents the top number for that segment, too.

“Content is king,” says the press release announcing the milestone.

Golden Nugget riding a wave of success in NJ

Eighteen months ago, the state’s five licensees shared NJ online casino revenue in fairly equal proportions. Each of them were earning between $3 million and $4 million per month.

Golden Nugget began to rise late in 2016, though, surging far ahead of the pack in 2017. It crossed $7 million in revenue this January (another record), while the others have more or less remained stagnant in the time since.

Increasing its library of games has been a big key to Golden Nugget’s growth. It added more than 130 new games in 2017, and customers seemed to take notice. The site saw an 81 percent increase in total wagers, paying out over $1 billion in winnings.

“This year will be no different,” said Thomas Winter, vice president of online gaming. So far so good on that front, with the addition of even more games to the platform.

What games does Golden Nugget offer?

Golden Nugget Casino operates on the NYX Open Platform (NYX was recently acquired by Scientific Games) which provides more than 100 of its current games. It offers online versions of popular table games, including blackjack and roulette.

It also has more slots options than anyone else in the country, including popular games from Bally Technologies and IGT. There are more than 20 video poker variants available, too. Plus virtual sports.

In addition to its market-leading library of digital content, Golden Nugget is the only NJ online casino offering live dealer online casino games. They’re physically dealt by a real dealer inside a casino studio, and the action is broadcast on top of a digital betting platform. Players can bet and tip online while interacting with an actual person in real time.

Live-dealer games have been especially successful for Golden Nugget and are a big reason customers continue to choose its platform over the competition.
