This “ground-breaking innovative technology” comes via a partnership with Softweave Ltd.
The 12 slot machines are only accessible via the Hard Rock app.
How to play Hard Rock Live Slots
All NJ online casinos have slot machines — and a lot of them. Hard Rock customers, on the other hand, now look forward to this one-of-a-kind experience.
“We are excited to introduce an entirely new way to play floor favorites without being there,” said Kresimir Spajic, senior vice president of online gaming and sports betting at Hard Rock International.
“With Live Slots, you can control real, physical slot machines located at Hard Rock Atlantic City from anywhere in New Jersey using your PC, Mac, tablet or mobile device. It is a first-of-its-kind experience unavailable anywhere else on the planet.”
Players can choose between popular land-based titles that are not available via the traditional online slot experience. They include:
- Buffalo, Spitfire Multipliers
- Hotter than Blaze
- 3x4x4x Double Times Pay
All of these titles are located within the row of real slot machines.
And like the real casino floor, there could be a short wait. If the machine is currently in use, the play button will be grayed out. The system will notify players waiting once it becomes available.
Once you start playing, there is about a one-second delay from when a player hits the spin button and the reels start moving.
For comparison purposes, live TV has a seven-second delay.
Hard Rock upping its online casino game
The Atlantic City casino opened the week before the Hard Rock app which launched on July 3, 2018.
The NJ online casino industry celebrated its sixth-anniversary last year and that makes this internationally recognized brand a fairly new player in the NJ online casino market.
Hard Rock is looking to continue building on its ’19 momentum.
The property reported $22.5 million in online gaming revenue for 2019. The $2.2 million it earned in December marked a 67.7% year over year increase.
Hard Rock is one of three brands operating under the license (and the only one with the Live Slots). The others are:
Golden Nugget, however, is still the online casino everybody is chasing. In ’19 alone, the company reported $177 million in Internet gaming revenue. Resorts Digital finished a distant second at $100.1 million.
The Hard Rock team, of course, is well aware of how much ground there is to make up. And they are up for the challenge.
You might remember GN launched the first live dealer studio back in 2016 and they had no competition in that sector for 18 months.
Hard Rock is hoping the live slots offering follows a similar path.
“Our brand is much more well known. You could argue that we have the nicest property in the state,” said Spajic.
“We are the only place in town with live slots. We think this is going to be a big difference.”
Hard Rock has its eyes set on #1
The new additions are part of a “brick and click” focus at Hard Rock Casino.
From a land-based perspective, Hard Rock is one of AC’s top-performing properties.
- Casino win for ’19 was $324 million (second overall)
- Total gaming revenue came in at $350 million (third overall)
By taking more of an online or click focus, Wild Card Rewards members have the opportunity to maintain and/or earn Elite or Rock Royalty status from the comforts of home.
Joe Lupo, president of HRAC, said online gaming continues to evolve in the Garden State.
