Let The Good Times Roll: A Quick Look At What’s What At Hard Rock Online Casino

The grand opening of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City was nearly a week ago. The traditional guitar smash is in the past. The confetti has been cleared.

But the Hard Rock party has only just begun.

Welcome to Hard Rock online casino

Thanks to a transactional waiver issued to Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, GiG received the temporary license to launch Hard Rock online casino the same day as the AC casino’s grand opening.

Hard Rock Casino has been up and rolling since June 28. There were limited hours of operation for the first few days. But now, the NJ online casino is ready to rock 24/7.

Games galore and lots of online slots

Safe to say that Hard Rock Atlantic City was not about to ease into the water with its NJ online casino. It ripped off a full-on cannonball.

From slots to table games to video poker to “Rockin’” and instant-win games, the platform offers a jaw-dropping 190 games right off the bat. Yes, not as many as the biggest online casinos in New Jersey, but it’s impressive to start off high.

Among the slots are a number of popular titles, such as Planet of the ApesStarburstWheel of Fortune, and Foxin’ Wins. But it would not be a Hard Rock online casino experience if not for a strong selection of music games, such as Jimi Hendrix, Guns n’ Roses, and The Voice.

The Voice combines the catchy theme song with a simple-play experience. In fact, it may not get much simpler.

Players have the option of betting $1, $2, $3, $5 and $10 per ticket with jackpots paying out between $15,000 and $250,000, depending on the bet. Like a singer auditioning on the popular NBC show, players press the PLAY button to turn up to four of the six chairs. Turned chairs reveal either single or double notes to fill up the corresponding meter.

After seven rounds, if a chair’s prize column is fully lit — or if a chair releases an instant prize — those are the player’s winnings.

Table games and video poker

Not into scrolling through the entire library of games in search of one that suits your taste? The selection is more limited in table games and video poker.

Three table games are available to play for users: 3 Wheel Roulette, Double Bonus Spin Roulette, and Black Jack NE. All three provide the kind of gambling players would find on a casino floor.

Black Jack NE, for example, is like walking up to the table on the floor. Sit in the virtual chair, place a bet between $1 and $500 (the maximum allowable to wager) and watch the cards come down. Hit 21, win some cash, or maybe play it safe and stand at 18. The rules of Black Jack NE mirror those of the table on the casino floor.

In video poker, there are five titles:

  • Five Play Draw Poker
  • Game King Bonus Poker
  • Game King Double Bonus Poker
  • Game King Double Double Bonus Poker
  • Game King Jacks or Better

The payout game is Five Play Draw Poker, a multi-hand, five-card draw setup.

Players bet between $50 and $1,000 and have a “base hand” on the bottom of the screen. Any cards held on the base hand are also held in the other four hands. So, for example, hold two queens in the base, and two queens will appear in each of the four others to provide extra chances at solid winning hands.

Live dealer games on the way? Maybe

In August 2016, Golden Nugget online casino broke the mold and became the first online casino operator in New Jersey to offer live dealer games — games that combine the in-casino experience with the comfort of playing from home.

As Golden Nugget reaped the rewards of an untapped market, several other NJ online casinos took notice and jumped on the bandwagon. In 2017, Betfair Casino dove into the market, followed this year by Borgata, playMGM, and Party Casino Online. 888 Casino will also hit the live dealer market later this summer.

Seeing the success of live dealer games in the Garden State, certainly, Hard Rock is anxious to bring them into the mix. And its website makes it seem as though live dealer games will be available soon.

From the site’s FAQ page:

Regular online casino table games are simulated. Live dealer games swap semi-realistic graphics for a video feed of live dealers, broadcast directly from Atlantic City. You can interact with the dealers in real time. It’s just like being there.

Assuming Hard Rock online casino does bring in live dealer games, the selection could include:

  • Baccarat
  • Pai Gow Poker
  • Craps
  • Roulette
  • Keno
  • Bingo
  • Three Card Poker
  • Let It Ride

Hard Rock online casino doesn’t miss a beat

What better way to debut than to appeal to players from the get-go? That’s what Hard Rock online casino is doing. And the casino is not subtle about it.

The splash page is an indication of this, as a promotion essentially takes up the entire screen. It is basically a welcome package for new players, with Hard Rock pledging to match any deposit made (up to $1,000) while gifting 50 free spins, which can be used for a variety of prizes.
