NJ Sportsbook App March Madness: FanDuel Vs 888 Sport

Posted By Martin Derbyshire on March 23, 2019

March Madness is upon us. This year, you can legally bet on the games in New Jersey for the first time.

The best NJ online sportsbooks are ready and waiting to take all your action on the NCAA Tournament. Some are even running traditional — and nontraditional — NCAA Tournament bracket contests. Most have already kicked into gear, but some allow you to jump in and out at will.

But first, we at PlayNJ have decided to compare these NJ sportsbook apps for March Madness betting so that you can make the right choice in the next few weeks.

We compared the various March Madness promotions, bonuses, and betting odds on the apps. Then, we looked at the software, how easy the apps are to use, and the available NJ deposit options to separate the contenders from the pretenders in the NJ sportsbook app market.

Here we compare fan-favorite FanDuel Sportsbook versus Cinderella 888 Sport.

FanDuel Sportsbook

When a sportsbook runs a free-to-play NCAA bracket contest offering up to $250,000 in guaranteed payouts, there’s little doubt it is going to be a March Madness betting destination.

FanDuel Sportsbook did just that with its free Bracket Madness contest. At last count, 37,000+ college basketball fans from across the nation entered into the contest, and yes, there are $250,000 in prize payouts.

March Madness odds on FanDuel Sportsbook

The early lines for March Madness games released by NJ sportsbooks were all point spreads.

Since the price on point spread bets at FanDuel Sportsbook is -110, it has the edge over some others in the NJ sportsbook market. FanDuel posts similar lines to most NJ sportsbooks, but that kind of competitive pricing makes it an attractive place to bet March Madness point spreads at the very least.

FanDuel Sportsbook’s bonus offers

New players at FanDuel Sportsbook can get a match bet of up to $500, as long as they signed up through our exclusive FanDuel Sportsbook link.

A little insurance on your first bet with a new sportsbook is never a bad thing, and FanDuel Sportsbook’s $500 maximum makes this a solid bonus offer.

Score (out of 10): 8

FanDuel Sportsbook’s software

The software platform employed by FanDuel Sportsbook is slick, well-designed and intuitive. There’s a ton of March Madness betting options, and navigating the website and the mobile app are easy.

FanDuel Sportsbook’s ease of use

FanDuel Sportsbook is as easy to use as any NJ online and mobile sportsbook. The shortcuts, taking you directly to the sport you’re interested in betting on, are a dream.

Also, putting together a bet slip could not be any easier.

FanDuel Sportsbook’s deposit options

FanDuel Sportsbook shines when it comes to its deposit options, too. There is a vast variety including direct bank transfer, PayPal and a FanDuel Prepaid Card.

You can also fund an account using e-check, credit cards, and cash through PayNearMe at 7-Eleven convenience stores and CVS pharmacies.

FanDuel Sportsbook is truly a market leader in this regard.

888 Sport

March Madness promos on 888 Sport

Unfortunately, 888 Sport didn’t run a free bracket challenge.

However, the sportsbook’s NCAA Basketball Challenge promotion allows parlay bettors to double their winnings, up to $100, every day throughout the tournament.

The only eligible parlay bets are with at least three legs that include moneyline bets on NCAA games with odds of -200 or higher. If you win the parlay, 888 Sport will double your winnings up to $100.

You can take advantage of this offer once per day, up to 20 times.

March Madness odds on 888 Sport

888 Sport posts competitive lines, but the only issue it has is that that the prices might be better elsewhere. NJ sportsbooks posted point spread lines for March Madness games first.

For example, the South Region‘s top seed (No. 1) Virginia took on (No. 16) Gardner-Webb. The point spread line opened at Virginia -24.5 (-114) on 888 Sport. However, the same game was at Virginia -24.5 (-110) on FanDuel Sportsbook.

That said, 888 Sport does also offer some alternative March Madness point spread bets.

You can get a better price by giving away more points or pay a higher price to get more points. Choices are never a bad thing.

888 Sport’s bonus offers

The new player bonus offer at 888 Sport includes a no-deposit bonus of $10.

However, you must go through the extra step via email to claim it. Then there’s a six-times playthrough requirement to be met before you can withdraw, and the bets must have at least -200 odds. In other words, there are a few hoops to jump through to get your $10.

New players are also eligible for a one-time, 100 percent deposit match bonus up to $500. The six-times playthrough requirement also applies here.

Score (out of 10): 7

888 Sport’s software

888 Sport features a fairly intuitive software platform. The mobile apps offer all of the betting options available on the desktop version for added convenience.

Overall, the software makes it clear that 888 Sport isn’t new to this game, having run an online and mobile sportsbook across the pond.

888 Sport’s ease of use

If you can click buttons, you can make a bet on 888 Sport. Navigation is simple, and the tabs and drop-down menus make it easy to plow through betting options.

The figures beside each category showing the number of available betting markets are helpful as well.

Score (out of 10): 8

888 Sport’s deposit options

888 Sport also shines when it comes to its deposit options.

Bettors can choose from seven different options, including PayPal, Neteller, bank and wire transfers. Adding the cage at Caesars Atlantic City Casino also helps make 888 Sport’s deposit options a respectable list.

Score (out of 10): 8

The tale of the tape

Giving away $250,000 in its free Bracket Madness contest is enough to give FanDuel Sportsbook the win here.

However, it seems to dominate 888 Sport in almost every other category as well.

That’s not to say 888 Sport isn’t worthy of any of your March Madness action. The alternative lines on 888 Sport are certainly worth a look.

However, from new player bonuses to competitive pricing and user-friendly software, FanDuel Sportsbook is a tough matchup for any NJ sportsbook.
