Get ready for an exciting month of online poker tournaments in New Jersey, as WSOP, BetMGM, and PokerStars all announced major online tournament series this month. Over $4 million in guaranteed prize pools is on the line for Garden State poker players.
With huge prize pools, a wide variety of games, and tournaments for players of all skill levels, these online events offer a chance to compete with some of the best players in the state. They also also offer the chance for players to take home some nice trophies as well.
WSOP kicks off first Online Super Circuit of 2023
The World Series of Poker website is set to kick off the first Online Super Circuit Series of 2023, boasting an impressive $1 million in guaranteed prizes. From March 9-16, WSOP.com will host the series, offering players the chance to compete for 18 championship rings, an increase from the standard 12.
The tournament is available in the Nevada/New Jersey combined market, with separate festivals taking place in Pennsylvania and Michigan simultaneously. These Pennsylvania and Michigan tournaments offer an additional $470,000 in guaranteed prizes, adding to the excitement of the already super-sized series.
Players must be physically located in one of these states to play, but they do not have to be a resident.
WSOP offers a variety of poker events
With a variety of events on the schedule, players can compete for championship rings and impressive prize pools. One of the most highly anticipated events is the $525 Main Event, which kicks off on March 26 and boasts a $250,000 guarantee for players in New Jersey and Nevada.
Meanwhile, Pennsylvania and Michigan players can join in on the same date with a guaranteed prize pool of $50,000. Most of the events will feature No Limit Hold’em, with a few Omaha tournaments added to the mix.
For even more excitement, Pennsylvania and Michigan will host the platforms’ first-ever Mystery Bounty circuit events. Here is a look at a few standout New Jersey events:
- $320 Deepstack (Event 1, March 9) – $75,000 guaranteed (NJ/NV)
- $215 Monster Stack (Event 4, March 12) – $125,000 guaranteed (NJ/NV)

WSOP Tournament of Champions on the horizon
Poker players have a few more months to qualify for the prestigious WSOP Tournament of Champions. This $1 million freeroll is open to all 2022-23 bracelet and circuit ring winners, whether earned online or in person.
This year, the tournament has a new slot at the beginning of the schedule during the WSOP’s Kickoff Week, running from May 31 to Jun. 2. However, only players who have won a live or online WSOP Circuit ring from July 20, 2022 to May 22, 2023 will be eligible to participate.
Additionally, those who won WSOP Online and WSOP Europe bracelets in 2022 can also enter the freeroll.
Win a WSOP Main Event seat in NJ
The WSOP Main Event satellites have returned, offering players the chance to win a seat at the prestigious $10,000 tournament.
Every Sunday in March, players can compete on WSOP.com, with events starting at 6:30 p.m. While buy-ins vary depending on the site, participants have a real shot at winning a seat for a fraction of the usual cost.

Pokerstars NJSCOOP begins March 17
Pokerstars has something massive in store for online poker players this March — the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP). Running from March 17 to April 3, the series boasts an impressive 252 events and $5 million in guaranteed prizes.
This marks the biggest prize pool in the history of the SCOOP in the U.S, with low, medium, and high buy-in levels available. The series will run in the shared player pool of Michigan and New Jersey, as well as separately in Pennsylvania, with over $3 million guaranteed in the former and more than $2 million in the latter.
PokerStars managing director Severin Rasset is excited for the upcoming event, stating,
“We’ve made a concerted effort to ensure that this series is accessible to all players, by curating an inclusive schedule with a wide range of buy-ins,” said PokerStars managing director Severin Rasset. “Our aim is to provide everyone with the opportunity to compete for a coveted SCOOP trophy.”

With buy-ins ranging from $10 to $2,500, this year’s SCOOP will cater to a wide range of players. The series kicks off with an Eight-Game Championship special, with buy-ins available at the $20, $50, and $200 levels.
Turbo Night Fight will close out March 17 with buy-ins at $30, $100, and $250 in the Michigan-New Jersey market, offering guarantees of $7,500, $15,000, and $25,000.
The highlight of the series is the two-day $300 buy-in high Main Event with a $300,000 guarantee in MI-NJ and a $200,000 guarantee in PA, beginning on April 2. All main events offer three different buy-in levels to choose from.
- $300 Main Event (two-day) – $300,000 guarantee in MI-NJ, $200,000 in PA
- $50 Mini Main Event – $50,000 guaranteed in MI-NJ, $35,000 in PA
- $2,500 High Roller Main Event – $125,000 guaranteed in MI-NJ, $100,000 in PA

BetMGM Bounty Blitz series begins
BetMGM is also running a small series this month. The latest tournament series, The Bounty Blitz poker series, is set to take place for players in New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
Double the excitement awaits as up to two events will be held each night. With $100,000 in prize pool payouts in each state, the tournament series runs from March 16-19 and features nine events with buy-ins ranging from $20 to $1,000. The series will run independently in each state.
Here’s a look at the options:
- Partypoker (NJ only)
- BetMGM (PA, MI, NJ)
- Borgata Poker (PA, NJ)
The marquee tournament of the series falls on March 19. The Progressive Knockout High Roller event boasts a $50,000 guarantee and requires a buy-in of $1,000. Each time a player knocks out an opponent, they will earn a bounty of $500.
“Bounty Blitz puts one of the most entertaining formats in poker in the spotlight for an entire series,” Luke Staudenmaier, director of poker at BetMGM, said previously about the tournament format.
The series will be similar in each state. All events in this series will be No Limit Hold’em. Some highlighted events in the series include:
- $535 NLH PKO (Event 3, Mar. 17) – $20,000 guaranteed
- $215 NLH PKO (Event 5, Mar. 18) – $12,000 guaranteed
- $100 NLH PKO (Event 9, Mar. 19) – $10,000 guaranteed
