Happy New Year, New Jersey!
A new year always seems to generate a bit of reflection and plenty of resolutions. This is no different for NJ casinos and sportsbooks.
Of course, there isn’t time for too much reflection because they’ll be busy planning game days and parties during the first weeks of the new year.
The NFL finished its regular season last weekend, meaning we’re officially in playoff territory. Before betting on Wild Card Weekend games, you might want to see how your favorite teams actually performed during NFL Week 17.
Because the more you know.
And while you’re preparing this week’s bets, you might want to snag Super Bowl seats at your favorite NJ sportsbook. Some Atlantic City casinos are already selling seats for the Big Game. You think you have time, but it will be here before you know it.
Because time flies.
The Super Bowl may end up being the biggest party of the year, but one AC casino is preparing for a party to celebrate a big milestone. Harrah’s Atlantic City turns 40 this year. The celebration begins with renovations to be completed in time for the festivities.
Because it’s Harrah’s party.
NFL Wild Card Weekend is here
While only two playoff spots were decided during NFL Week 17, there were other playoff implications that came down to the final seconds of several games.
One replay that is getting plenty of airtime is Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, watching the Philadelphia Eagles claim the NFC East title. The Cowboys finished second behind the Eagles because of the win.

What a difference a month makes for the Eagles. Week 17’s win over the New York Giants was their third consecutive cover, and gives them the momentum going into their matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
Even so, NJ sportsbook apps aren’t ready to put the Eagles’ struggles behind them. Doug Pederson’s squad will face Seattle as slight underdogs.
NJ sportsbooks already selling Super Bowl LIV seats
When it comes to the Big Game, who cares what teams are playing? Sure, we all want “our” team to be there, but we’re ultimately going to watch and bet on the Super Bowl anyway.
So, the question is not if you’re going to watch, but where? Don’t leave planning for the Big Game to the last minute, because you might get shut out.
The most popular sports betting event of the year will bring fans, bettors, and commercial watchers to the party.
There are already seats on sale for Super Bowl Sunday at NJ sportsbooks. You can bet the rest of the sportsbooks in the Garden State will be announcing their party plans soon.
And in case you want to get your bet on early, too. Here are the current odds for Super Bowl LIV:

Harrah’s turns the big 4-0!
The year 2020 is a big one for Harrah’s Atlantic City. Not only does it turn 40, but it is investing millions in the property. Its newly branded and renovated Laguna Tower should be party-ready in April.
In addition to Harrah’s, Caesars Entertainment operates two AC casinos:
- Caesars
- Bally’s
The latest upgrade brings Caesars’ total investment in Atlantic City to over $300 million in four years.
Harrah’s celebrates its official birthday on Nov. 22 and the party is still in the planning stages. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that casino gamblers will benefit from a celebratory mood throughout the year from one of Atlantic City’s oldest casinos.
