NJ Gaming News: Super Bowl Betting, Need We Say More?

NJ gambling news is all about the Super Bowl

Is there such a thing as too much Super Bowl? Well, we hope not because this week is all about the big game on Sunday.

With the spread so tight, Super Bowl betting discussions are centering around prop bets. In fact, several New Jersey online sportsbooks will likely have over 1,000 prop bets come game time.

Football may be the only thing most people can think about; there is this little thing called the Academy Awards coming up. With every award show, the Oscars betting trends are shifting. Even a slight shift in the odds can be a boon for the bettor in the know.

Here is a look at the stories making headlines in the New Jersey gambling world this week.

DraftKings Sportsbook talks Super Bowl betting

Johnny Avello, director of DraftKings Sportsbook, spoke about the craziness around Super Bowl LIV betting with NJGamblingSites.com.

Avello said that by game time, “There will probably be over a thousand ways to bet the game.”

The fact that the Super Bowl is the busiest betting day of the year may have something to do with all the prop bets, promotions and odds boosts making their way to NJ mobile betting apps.

As proof, Big Game Squares is back at DraftKings for the second year. It is a popular game that requires zero money and zero skill. DraftKings will award $54,000 to lucky customers for merely picking a square.

In the end, however, Avello realizes there is only so much he and his team can do to ensure a successful outcome.

“The final results are not the success. I mean, if we win the game, we win it. If we lose the game, we lose it. We are not suiting up and playing. All we can do is book the game, make the customers happy and the results play out.”

NJ sports bettors seeing props, promotions galore

Needless to say, all 17 sportsbooks are vying for a piece of the Super Bowl sports betting pie. In the end, it is the NJ sports betting customers that will end up the winners.

To help make sense of it all, we created the Ultimate Guide To Finding And Using Super Bowl Promos In New Jersey. We collected all the promotions for new and current bettors and arranged them by sportsbook.

We will update the list as we get closer to Super Bowl LIV. It’s our way of helping you get the most out of your betting dollar.

Additionally, throughout the week, we have been highlighting unique prop bets and strategies to help bettors try and find an edge.

While there are more articles to come, here are a few to get you started:

Party on: Where to watch, bet on the Super Bowl in NJ

Do you know where you are spending your Sunday? If not, now is the time to start making your plans.

Game day is just around the corner, and Atlantic City casinos are selling seats to watch the Super Bowl at NJ sportsbooks.

Maybe the track is more of your style. Well, Monmouth Park and the Meadowlands are also busy rolling out the red carpet.

Whether you head to the Boardwalk, the track or your couch, it’s time to get your party hat ready because Super Sunday will be here before you know it.

Oscars betting at NJ sportsbooks

While all bets this week will most likely be on Super Bowl props, remember that betting on the Oscars is heating up as the ceremony is a few weeks away.

It seems like there is a major award show every weekend leading up to the Academy Awards, and with every award comes a shift in the odds.

This past weekend, the 1917 director Sam Mendes collected a trophy from the Director’s Guild of America. The win resulted in an upward trend of the movie in the Best Picture category.

While 1917 may be the favorite today, Parasite and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood are still in contention — if only barely. The Oscars betting odds are certainly reflective of that.
