Every East Coast gambler is waiting for June 28 to roll around.
We have known for awhile that Hard Rock AC is bringing Carrie Underwood and Pitbull to the stage for opening weekend. We also know that Hard Rock is planning its infamous guitar smash to mark the grand opening.
It seems everyone has been waiting to see what Ocean Resort Casino has in store to celebrate the transformation of the former Revel Casino into what Ocean Resort hopes will be the luxury destination on the Boardwalk.
During the whole renovation process, Ocean Resort Atlantic City has not been pressured to reveal details before its time. Even as Hard Rock was frequently making headlines, Ocean Resort seemed more intent to get it right than to merely get some press.
With just two weeks until the grand opening weekend, now seems the right time for Ocean Resort Casino to share some of its plans. The plans are no doubt worthy of a celebration that will undoubtedly be making plenty of headlines.
Ocean Resort Casino has plans of its own
This week, Ocean Resort Casino announced its entertainment lineup for its grand opening weekend.
Grammy award-winning DJ Diplo will perform at HQ2 Nightclub and Beachclub on June 29. HQ2 returns to The Boardwalk with the opening of Ocean Resort.
HQ2 was one of the few successes of the former Revel Casino and confirmation of its return is exciting for those looking to spice up the nightlife on The Boardwalk.
Other performers include Kaskade and Jermaine Dupri on June 30 and Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano on July 1.
Burlesque is back, baby!
Ocean Resort Casino isn’t the only thing getting a new life. Royal Jelly, the burlesque club that closed when Revel shuttered its property four years ago, is also getting a second life.
The Royal Jelly is part nightclub and part burlesque-style entertainment. There will be DJs and a dance floor for people to get their groove on. Multiple stages and a catwalk high above the party will showcase burlesque performances. The vibe will range from classic rock to jazz and will include live music.
In case you’re thinking “strip club,” don’t.
Ivan Kane, the owner of Ivan Kane Enterprises, operates burlesque clubs in Nevada and California and says most of the customers to his shows are women.
In a statement to NJ.com, Kane said he is thrilled “to come back and be able to fire up all the systems and revitalize it by adding the new entertainment components. It’s a very welcoming environment. We like to think we stand alone because we’re trying to create something absolutely unique.”
The bar inside Royal Jelly will be open seven nights a week. The burlesque dancers will take the stage every Thursday through Saturday.
Burlesque lessons are available for those that are interested in developing a few skills of their own. The Royal Jelly dancers are available to teach their showstopping moves every Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
And to top it all off … free parking
So many options, so little time. With parking rates ranging from $5 to $20 on some busy days, parking costs can add up.
Well, one thing you won’t have to worry about this summer is parking. Ocean Resort Casino is offering free parking as a little “thank you” for visiting the brand new property.
As you can see, Ocean Resort is bringing plenty of its own fun to the party.
Ocean Resort Casino and Hard Rock Atlantic City are turning the last weekend in June into one of the hottest tickets on the Eastern seaboard.
