The famous slot machine call is common on the floors of Atlantic City casinos. But the distinctive sound is heading to online casinos in New Jersey.
For the first time in the 10-year history of NJ online casinos, a digital version of Buffalo will be available. The game’s manufacturer, Anaxi (Aristocrat), says the online launch will begin here in the Garden State before being introduced elsewhere.
“Bringing a title like Buffalo,” Cath Burns, COO of Anaxi, said in a press release, “one of the most iconic slot machine titles to iGaming is so exciting, our customers and their players can’t wait to play it online.
“We’re on a mission to create gaming’s new frontier and the stampede continuing online is a sign that we’re charging forward with confidence.”
Buffalo makes transition from AC casinos to NJ online casinos
Buffalo first found its way onto gaming floors in Las Vegas casinos around 2008 before traveling east to Atlantic City. Now a common sight on AC casino floors, the original Buffalo has spawned several versions of the title, including Buffalo Gold, Buffalo Chief and Buffalo Link.
Despite the game’s enormous popularity — for a few years it had an almost cult-like devotion among some slot players — Buffalo has never been offered to online casino players. Imitation titles such as Bison Fury (Entain), Thundering Buffalo (High 5) and Buffalo Blitz (Playtech) have filled the digital void in Buffalo’s absence.
Slot-maker Aristocrat only recently launched an online division in 2022 called Anaxi. Shortly after, the Australian-based gaming and technology company began rolling out some of its exclusive titles to online casino players in the US.
