For the second time this year, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City has paid out over $1 million to a single winner.

On July 14, a table games player named “Jin” won $1.5 million from a $5 progressive side bet. at the Atlantic City casino. The AGS “Bonus Spin Xtreme” wheel was triggered by Jin’s wager and landed on the Triple Diamond jackpot.

Just another big jackpot for Atlantic City casinos

The Borgata Atlantic City jackpot is the single-largest progressive payout in AGS’ history, according to a press release.

However, it’s only the second-biggest jackpot won at Borgata in 2023. On May 19, a player won $2.9 million on a “$5 Wheel of Fortune” slot machine.

According to the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement, there have been nine jackpots of $1 million or more this year, not including side bets such as Jin’s. Only three have occurred at an Atlantic City casino.

Remember these big winners?

In February, someone hit for $1.5 million playing “Willy Wonka: Dreamer of Dreams” at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City. A month later at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, a player won $1.23 million on a “Wheel of Fortune – Dollars” game.

The remaining six jackpots over $1 million were won using NJ online casinos. Three of them took place on DraftKings Online Casino, including two wins on the same day. On June 14, DraftKings reported winners of $3.3 million and $1.4 million.

Also in June, an anonymous NJ customer was playing “Luck O’ The Jackpot” on Borgata Online Casino and won $2.4 million.

In January, someone using BetMGM Online Casino was playing “MGM Grand Millions” when they hit for $2.8 million.

How many NJ jackpots have there been?

State gaming regulators publish data on all jackpots of $50,000 or more paid out by Atlantic City casinos or online casinos in NJ.

There have been 871 jackpots of $50,000 or more paid out in 2023, according to the NJDGE. The jackpots total just under $93 million.

In the last 30 days, there have been 27 reported jackpots totaling $1.9 million.
