We Got The Inside Tour Of Golden Nugget’s Live Dealer Studio

Customers arriving at the Golden Nugget Atlantic City via the self-parking entrance may or may not notice a hidden casino.

Like a real gambling floor, there are blackjack, poker, roulette and baccarat tables.

Behind the tinted glass, however, the scene is quite different. Players and gaming chips are nonexistent. Actually, they are live in the virtual world.

This is a live dealer studio. When it opened, it was the first of its kind in the United States.

Opening day dates back to Aug. 4, 2016.

The 2,000-square-foot space (not including support, training and storage areas) is the first to operate 24/7.

More importantly, Golden Nugget is tops when it comes to NJ online casino industry.

  • The property reported  $17.2 million for December.
  • For 2019, the Nugget has earned  $177 million from online games (good enough for a 68.9%  year over year increase).
  • Online revenue topped land-based ($14.3  million) for the third month in a row.

Golden Nugget + partners = shared space

Located in the Marina District, the Golden Nugget is AC’s smallest. The studio is considered small in terms of square feet.

For comparison purposes, Golden Nugget Sportsbook is 2,500 square feet and resembles a fan cave.

This live dealer floor, however,  is large enough to share with other brands operating  under the Nugget license:

SugarHouse is the other online casino partner but does not use the studio.

Three of the brands operating under the Borgata license make use of a separate section of the studio:

Blackjack, roulette and more live dealer games

After logging on to your app of choice, it’s time to pick a table.

There is certainly no shortage of options inside of the Golden Nugget’s secret room (good luck finding the door).

Here is the breakdown of the games:

  • Nine active blackjack tables
  • One baccarat
  • One casino hold’em
  • One roulette
  • One unlimited blackjack

The number of seats available at each table varies by game.

Standard blackjack tables can accommodate up to seven players. Other standard draw games “can effectively host an unlimited number of simultaneous players.” The Nugget team said there is a technical limitation, but it’s unlikely there will be that many players at the same time.

Golden Nugget does offer one additional table in which app users and casino customers can play roulette simultaneously.

The “over the table” casino floor roulette is not secluded like the other games.

A  camera is above the main roulette wheel. This view gives players an “immersive experience of actually being there, with the sights and sounds right from the casino floor itself.”

Like the majority of the other live dealer games, the number of online players is unlimited.

So, what seems like a small and quiet operation from outside those live studio doors is far from it.

Call it the Golden virtual touch.
