William Hill Confirms Plans To Launch ‘Best Sportsbook In Town’ At Ocean Resort Casino

It’s official. Ocean Resort Casino has signed William Hill as its partner for NJ sports betting. A press release issued this morning provides confirmation of the agreement that was tipped off in the press last week.

Bruce Deifik, chairman of the ownership group, has proclaimed lofty plans for sports betting since purchasing the property around the first of the year. Now, it appears he’s found a path to fulfill his promise:

“Ocean Resort Casino is thrilled to partner with William Hill, the best name in sports betting, to establish a truly unique sports betting experience in the center of our resort and in Atlantic City. From real-time betting to exclusive hospitality for major events, the sports book will be second-to-none.”

A spokesman recently projected that the space will be ready in time for the property’s June 28 grand opening.

Ocean Resort + William Hill = live betting

Deifik’s vision seems to be taking shape, starting with the physical footprint. Ocean Resort has carved out 7,500 square feet of space right in the heart of the gaming floor.

The sportsbook will be integrated within the center bar, surrounded by a video wall and a board displaying live odds. The book intends to offer in-play betting on the property, likely via an interactive platform. The press release cites a total investment of $6 million.

Deifik has found a top-tier partner to operate his shiny new book, too.

William Hill is one of the largest bookmakers in the world, active in nearly every gambling market. The group already has a foothold in the US, currently operating more than 100 Nevada sportsbooks. Its NJ online gambling license is pending final approvals right now.

William Hill ‘very excited’ for Ocean Resort sportsbook

CEO Joe Asher says William Hill will be “very excited” to have a presence on the AC Boardwalk.

“We have had great success working with Ocean’s senior management in Las Vegas,” he said, “and we are excited to have the chance to do so in Atlantic City at what will be the best sportsbook in town.”

William Hill will also operate sports betting for Monmouth Park in Oceanport.
