PokerStars Winter Series Brings A Storm Of Cash To New Jersey Poker Players

Posted By Steve Ruddock on January 24, 2017

[toc]PokerStars New Jersey kicked off its latest online tournament series on Sunday, dubbed the Winter Series, but there is still time to get in on the action and collect some of the $275,000 PokerStars NJ has guaranteed across the series’ 10 tournaments.

The PokerStars NJ Winter Series runs for eight days, from Jan. 22-29.

The Winter Series features a total of 10 tournaments on the schedule (one per day and two events on the Sundays that bookend the series), and boasts a total guaranteed prize pool of $275,000.

Interestingly, and almost certainly by design, the online tournament series coincides with the Borgata Winter Poker Open, which is taking place at rival Atlantic City casino Borgata.

Hosting the online series during the WPO gives PokerStars NJ (partnered with Resorts Casino in Atlantic City) the ability to capitalize on all of the poker players in town for the popular Borgata WPO.

The Main Event

The Main Event of the series takes place on Sunday, Jan. 29, and boasts a $75,000 guarantee.

The Main Event does have a hefty $400 buy-in, but PokerStars NJ is running plenty of satellite tournaments that will allow players to qualify for the PokerStars NJ Winter Series Main Event for a fraction of the cost.
