In Europe, players recognize Unibet as a significant sports betting, poker, and casino brand.

Now, thanks to a deal between its parent company, Kindred Group, and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, it’s going to make its first foray into the US online gambling market.

Unibet Casino is set to open its virtual doors in New Jersey in the first half of 2019.

While the details of this new service are still shrouded in mystery, we expect it to launch with a robust library of slots and table games.

Unibet Casino’s welcome bonus

Unibet is exceptionally likely to mirror the welcome bonus offered by Hard Rock online casino. If that is the case, all new customers will get a 100 percent match on their first deposit, up to $1,000.

This bonus is likely to come with a 30x wagering requirement and will be easiest to clear while playing slots.

Other games will likely contribute 20 percent of all money wagered toward the bonus. This means that clearing a $100 bonus will require betting at least $3,000 on slots, or $15,000 on video poker or table games.

Unibet Casino’s banking options

Unibet’s NJ casino will undoubtedly mimic Hard Rock when it comes to supported banking options. This means NJ residents will be able to deposit to their Unibet account using the following methods:

  • Visa/Mastercard
  • ACH transfer
  • PayNearMe
  • PayPal
  • PlayPlus

Cash-outs will likely be possible via ACH transfers and traditional bank transfers. Hard Rock doesn’t support withdrawing via a check by courier.

Also, customers of both casinos would be able to make a deposit and withdrawal cash in-person at Hard Rock Atlantic City.

Unlike Resorts Casino Hotel, Hard Rock isn’t issuing its own Discover prepaid cards, but we wouldn’t be surprised if such a service became available with the launch of the new Unibet site.

Unibet’s software and mobile app

In Europe, Unibet offers games designed by well over 20 well-regarded casino software companies. The list includes IGT, Microgaming, NetEnt and Williams Interactive.

Evolution Gaming powers the live casino component, which is the company that provides the same services to Hard Rock online casino in the US.

We don’t anticipate the full lineup in New Jersey, but we do expect Unibet to offer some of its most popular games. This reduced selection would be true for the mobile app, which currently supports about 150 out of 800+ Unibet games.

The Unibet app is available for both iOS and Android devices. It should launch along with the NJ desktop casino.

The iOS version will be available at the iTunes Store, but its Android counterpart will probably launch as an unofficial app that has to be downloaded directly from Unibet servers. This is because Google has a no-gambling policy when it comes to its official Google Play Store.

We should note that the live dealer games in the US are different from the ones available in Europe. Consequently, it’s impossible to predict whether the NJ app will support these games or not.

Unibet Online Casino games

Slots

About 80 percent of all games offered by Unibet Casino in Europe are slots, and we expect the NJ online casino to provide a similar gambling experience.

Judging by Hard Rock’s game library, Unibet NJ should give players access to 200-300 slots. Most of them will be five-reel games with contemporary gameplay mechanics, such as special symbols, free spins and feature rounds.

As mentioned above, Unibet has access to a wide range of developers, so expect a lot of variety in terms of art direction and themes.

The new lineup is likely to include popular classics, such as Cleopatra, Black Knight or Siberian Storm. Also, hot new games based on popular TV shows and gaming licenses, such as Game of Thrones, Vikings or Tomb Raider.

Given Unibet’s excellent connections in the casino industry, we expect the NJ library of games to expand over time gradually.

Jackpots

In Europe, Unibet gives its customers access to about 70 progressive jackpots.

Most are casino-specific, but some receive contributions from multiple IGT and Microgaming casinos. The biggest European jackpots are currently worth well over one million dollars.

Still, judging by what’s available at Hard Rock, we expect the jackpots at Unibet NJ to be nearly half that. It seems the biggest progressive jackpots will likely be available with Cleopatra and Siberian Storm and will be worth about $600,000 at launch.

Live casino

Unibet Casino offers 17 of Evolution Gaming’s live dealer games in Europe. In the US, Evolution Gaming offers a different lineup, which consists of baccarat, roulette, blackjack, tri-card poker and casino hold ’em.

All of these games can already be accessed via Hard Rock online casino, so players interested in this component of Unibet’s NJ service can give them a try on its sister site.

Table games

Beyond live dealer games, we guarantee Unibet NJ will offer a decent selection of table games.

Judging by the European site, the lineup will consist of multiple variants of baccarat, blackjack, casino poker and roulette. Unibet isn’t big on dice games, so don’t expect more than one variant of craps.

Video poker

Unibet NJ isn’t likely to win over any video poker enthusiasts.

The European Unibet site offers only 11 games of this kind, and Hard Rock online casino has five. In the best case scenario, the new NJ site will launch with about 10 variants of jacks or better, deuces wild, all-American poker and bonus poker.

Most of these games will likely suit the needs of profit-seeking players due to the low, less than 1 percent house edge, but don’t expect a lot in terms of variety.

Unibet Casino’s tournaments

Aside from live dealer games and a robust selection of slots and classic card games, players know Unibet best for its daily slots tournaments.

While we don’t expect the NJ casino to match its European counterpart in terms of event selection or prizes, we’re reasonably sure Unibet will implement this feature in some shape or form before launch.
