Reasons I don’t recommend Tropicana Online Casino
- Neglected app (1.9/5 on iOS, 2.9/5 on Android, no update since late 2024)
- Small welcome offer with a 50x playthrough on table games
- Smaller game library (hundreds of titles vs 3,000+ at BetMGM Casino)

Tropicana Online Casino NJ is the online version of Tropicana Atlantic City, run by Caesars Entertainment and licensed by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE). Caesars relaunched the brand in April 2023 after the original version closed, and it now sits alongside Caesars Palace Online Casino as the company’s second New Jersey casino brand.
My testing covered the app and desktop site from registration through to a withdrawal. Some of it impressed me. Every wager earns Caesars Rewards credits that carry over to Caesars resorts nationwide, and Remote Reels lets you spin real slot machines on the Tropicana Atlantic City floor from your phone. PayPal, PayNearMe and a cash option also make the cashier more flexible than most.
The weak spots are hard to ignore, though. The NJ Tropicana online casino app is rated below 3/5 on both stores and hasn’t been updated since late 2024. The welcome offer is small, and table games carry a 50x playthrough. The library also runs to hundreds of titles when the market leaders offer thousands.
My takeaway is simple. Tropicana works for Caesars Rewards members who want another place to earn tier credits. Against the best NJ online casinos I rate higher, it trails on the app, the bonus and the game menu. Everyone else should start with the three alternatives below.

Tropicana Online Casino NJ bonus & ongoing offers | 3.0/5
New players get a 100% first-deposit match, and no promo code is needed. The most recent run matched deposits up to $200 with a $10 minimum. Playthrough is 10x on slots, 20x on video poker and 50x on everything else, and you get seven days to clear it. You can compare it with other New Jersey online casino bonuses before signing up.
That 50x table-game multiplier is my biggest problem with the deal. Clearing a $200 bonus on blackjack would take $10,000 in wagers in a single week. The Hard Rock Bet online casino offer refunds first-day losses up to $1,000 with just a 1x playthrough, plus 500 bonus spins. At the BetMGM online casino, code PLAYNJ unlocks up to 1,000 bonus spins on a $10 deposit.
| Operator | Welcome offer | Promo code | Where it beats Tropicana |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tropicana Casino | 100% deposit match, recently up to $200 | None needed | n/a |
| Hard Rock Bet Casino | Up to $1,000 lossback (1x) plus 500 bonus spins | None needed - Claim now! | Bigger offer, lighter playthrough |
| BetMGM Casino | Up to 1,000 bonus spins on a $10 deposit | PLAYNJ | 3,000+ games |
| FanDuel Casino | Deposit $5, get $25 plus 1,000 bonus spins | None needed - Claim now! | 4.8/5 iOS app |
Ongoing promotions run through the Caesars Rewards program rather than a separate Tropicana scheme. Slot play earns one Reward Credit and one Tier Credit per $5 wagered, and table games earn one of each per $25. Credits can be redeemed for bonus play or for hotel stays, dining and experiences at Caesars properties. For existing Caesars Rewards members, that shared loyalty is the strongest reason to hold a Tropicana account.
Tropicana online casino app NJ & website experience | 2.4/5
Tropicana runs its own app on iOS and Android, built on the same Caesars platform as Caesars Palace Online Casino. Desktop play runs in the browser. You’ll also find the Remote Reels studio in the lobby, streaming 25 physical slot machines from the Tropicana Atlantic City floor.
The app is the weakest part of the product. At the time of review, the iOS version sits at 1.9/5 from about 170 ratings and the Android version at 2.9/5. Neither has been updated since late 2024, which is a long time in a market where the leading apps ship changes every few weeks.
Did I like the Tropicana Casino website?
I had a better experience with Tropicana on desktop than on the app. The lobby is simple to navigate, search and game categories make finding a particular title straightforward, and I could get to the cashier and help sections without much digging. My verdict is that the website gets the basics right, but it doesn’t feel as polished as the NJ casino sites I rate higher. Most players will meet the app first, though, and that’s where Tropicana falls down.
My favorite apps like Tropicana Casino
The FanDuel online casino app is the one I’d use instead. It holds 4.8/5 on the App Store and 4.5/5 on Google Play, and it tops my ranking of NJ casino apps for a reason. Updates arrive regularly, too.

Payment methods & banking options at Tropicana NJ online casino | 3.9/5
Banking is the area where Tropicana holds its own. The cashier covers cards, PayPal, online banking, ACH e-check, a Play+ prepaid card and PayNearMe cash deposits, and deposits start at $10.
| Method | Type | Speed | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| PayPal | E-wallet | Within 24 hours to 3 business days | Deposits and withdrawals |
| Play+ | Prepaid card | Up to 3 business days | Deposits and withdrawals |
| ACH e-check / online banking | Bank transfer | Up to 5 business days | Deposits and withdrawals |
| Visa / Mastercard | Card | Instant deposit | Deposits only |
| PayNearMe | Cash at retail | Instant deposit | Deposits only |
| Casino cage | Cash | Same visit | Atlantic City |
Deposit methods
Deposits land instantly and carry no fees. PayNearMe is useful if you’d rather not link a bank account, since you pay cash at a participating retailer and the funds post to your balance.
Withdrawal methods
PayPal is the fastest way out. Third-party reviews put PayPal payouts anywhere from same day to three business days, with ACH taking up to five. Some app store reviewers describe much longer waits after being asked for extra documents, so upload ID early. For quicker cashouts overall, FanDuel Casino processes most withdrawals in one to two days.
Tropicana casino NJ online game selection & game quality | 3.2/5
The catalog covers slots, blackjack, roulette, baccarat, video poker, Slingo and live dealer tables. The operator describes it as “hundreds of slots,” with titles from studios like NetEnt, IGT, Konami and High 5 Games. Browse our New Jersey online slot games guide for more on the titles that also appear here.
Remote Reels is the standout. You control real slot machines inside a studio on the Tropicana Atlantic City floor, watching the reels spin on a live stream. Caesars shares it with its sister sites, but none of the partner brands below offer anything like it.

Tropicana slots
As mentioned, there are many New Jersey online slot games to play at Tropicana. With hundreds to choose from, these were our favorites:
- Blood and Gold
- Castle of Terror
- Ben Hur
- 6 Wild Sharks
- Charmstones
- Colossal Heat Sticky Credits
- DaVinci Gems
- Dragon’s Law
- Cyber Cash
- China Mystery
Tropicana online casino live dealer games
Yes, live dealer games are available at Tropicana Casino. Yes, live dealer games are available at Tropicana Casino. The selection includes traditional favorites such as blackjack, Three Card Poker, baccarat, roulette and craps, along with game-show-style options such as Crazy Time, Crazy Coin Flip and Football Studio. There are also several blackjack variations and tables, including Lightning Blackjack, Free Bet Blackjack, Infinite Blackjack and Spanish-language blackjack.
With a live dealer, you’re getting as close to approximating an in-person experience as possible by viewing a live stream from Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. You’ll have a chat window that you can use to interact with the host, who will catch you up on how to play this version of your favorite table games.
Other games at Tropicana online casino in NJ
In addition to the games mentioned above, Tropicana Casino offers the following:
- Slingo: 39 titles
- Baccarat: 3 titles
- Roulette: 12 titles
- Poker/Other Card Games: 10 titles
What’s missing from the Tropicana library?
Tropicana’s main limitation is variety rather than any major missing game category. BetMGM Casino lists more than 3,000 games in New Jersey, including over 3,600 slots and 28-plus live dealer tables. Even Caesars Palace Online Casino, which shares Tropicana’s platform, advertises more than 2,000 games. Tropicana still covers the major categories, including progressive jackpots and game-show-style live dealer titles, but the overall selection is less extensive, particularly for players who prioritize a large variety of slots and specialty games.

Customer support at Tropicana Casino | 3.6/5
Support is better than average. Live chat and phone support (1-800-986-9248) run from 8 a.m. to midnight ET every day, and email support at NJSupport@TropicanaCasino.com is available around the clock. A searchable help center covers the basics.
Phone support is a real plus, since many NJ apps offer only chat. The gap is overnight, when urgent issues wait until morning unless email is enough.
Pros and cons of Tropicana Online NJ Casino
What I liked
- Caesars Rewards credits on every wager, usable at Caesars resorts nationwide
- Remote Reels streams real slot machines from the Tropicana Atlantic City floor
- PayPal, PayNearMe and cash options in the cashier
- Phone and live chat support from 8 a.m. to midnight, plus 24/7 email
Cons
- App rated 1.9/5 on iOS and 2.9/5 on Android, with no update since late 2024
- Small welcome offer with a 50x playthrough on table games
- Hundreds of games, far behind the market leaders
What others are saying about Tropicana Online Casino
The Tropicana Casino NJ app has 1.9/5 from about 170 ratings on the App Store and 2.9/5 from roughly 60 reviews on Google Play [EDITOR: refresh at publish]. These are user reports, not verified facts, but the same complaints repeat:
- Location checks failing, even after reinstalling the app
- Games crashing mid-session with “cannot be completed” errors
- Withdrawals stalling for days when extra documents are requested
- Slot play that longtime players feel compares poorly with rival apps
Is Tropicana casino online NJ legit?
Yes. Caesars Entertainment runs the site and also operates Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, one of the city’s longest-running resorts. Every real-money site in the state must hold a license, and the DGE regulates all online casino play in New Jersey. That oversight covers game testing, identity checks, player-fund protection and responsible gambling tools such as deposit limits and self-exclusion.
Licensing isn’t the issue here. The product is.

Each of these fixes one of the three problems I had with Tropicana:

Final thoughts about Tropicana Online Casino NJ
My Tropicana online casino review for NJ players comes down to one question: how much do you value Caesars Rewards? If you’re already chasing tier status, Tropicana is a reasonable second account, and Remote Reels is a fun novelty. For everyone else, a neglected app, a small bonus and a thin library add up to a 3.3/5 from me. Hard Rock Bet Casino, FanDuel Casino and BetMGM Casino all do the basics better.
Tropicana Online Casino NJ FAQ
No promo code is needed. The welcome offer is a 100% first-deposit match, most recently up to $200, applied automatically after a qualifying deposit.
I didn’t find a no-deposit bonus for new New Jersey players. The welcome offer requires a first deposit of at least $10.
Yes. The Tropicana Casino NJ app is a free download from the App Store and Google Play, though both versions are poorly rated and haven’t been updated since late 2024.
Yes. Caesars Entertainment operates it under DGE oversight, and you must be 21+ and physically in New Jersey to play.
PayPal is the quickest option both ways. Deposits post instantly, and PayPal withdrawals can arrive within a day once approved.
No. Tropicana Casino does not charge a fee for any withdrawal method. However, your bank or payment processor may charge its own third-party transaction fee.
Hard Rock Bet Casino has the stronger welcome offer, FanDuel Casino has the best-rated app, and BetMGM Casino has the deepest game library. All three are better picks than Tropicana Online Casino NJ.
