Just in time for the start of NFL, FanDuel Sportsbook went live with online New Jersey sports betting.
Read on for more about the NJ sports betting app and website and how to get your free bet offer at FanDuel’s NJ online sportsbook.
For new players at FanDuel Sportsbook, if they lose their first bet, they’ll get a refund on that bet (in account credit) of up to $500. If they win the first bet, they’ll simply be credited the winnings as they normally would.
The deposit must be a minimum of $10, and it must be made within seven days of completing registration. As soon as those two conditions are met, the money is automatically added to your account.
See below for additional terms and conditions.

|Free Bet Offer||$500 (deposit required)|
|Last Updated||March 2020|
Additional terms: Bonus funds must first be wagered before they can be withdrawn, and the total wager amount must equal the sum of the initial deposit plus the bonus. For example, if you deposit $50 and are thus given $50 in bonus money, the funds will be yours as soon you complete wagers totaling $100.
Any bet made on a heavy favorite with odds greater than -200 does not count toward fulfilling the waging requirement.
FanDuel has a crossover promotion with their online casino. Play your first day risk-free up to $200. That means that FanDuel will give you 100% back on your net casino losses during the first 24 hours of play. That’s a win-win.
If you haven’t checked out FanDuel’s casino arm called Betfair, you’re in for a surprise. There are a lot of great games and quite a few new ones were added in the last month, including Dragon’s Wild, Arcane Reel Chaos, Dragon’s Palace, Stellar Jackpots with Silver Pride, Smokin’ Triples, Tutan’s Treasure, Five Pirates, Wild Streets and more. In addition to slots, there is video poker, multiple Blackjack variations and a variety of table games, many of them exclusive to the site and not found anywhere else in New Jersey.
On the sports side of things, you might want to take advantage of Multi-Sport Parlay Insurance, for those of you who like to mix it up and bet on any sport in any market. Just place your 5+ parlay and get your money back, up to $25, if one leg fails to hit. You can take advantage of this up to 4 times per day and each leg must have odds of -200 or greater.
The weekend sports menu is packed with college football, NFL, NBA and MLB World Series betting.
FanDuel Sportsbook customers can take advantage of some special odds boosts. Here’s a rundown of what’s on tap:
Multi-Sport Parlay Insurance: This promotion doesn’t just apply to the NFL or college football markets. All sports are in play here. This offer applies to any parlays of five legs or more. If all legs of the bet hit except one, FanDuel will give you money back. There is a $25 max refund per eligible wager. The offer is only good for four eligible bets per FanDuel account holder per day. Each individual leg of the parlay need to have odd greater than or equal to -200. Available through Dec. 31, 2019.
Risk-Free Offer for new Betfair Casino customers: You may or may not have heard that FanDuel Sportsbook customers have a shared wallet available to use in the Betfair Casino. NJ customers who have not opened a casino account yet can give the site/app a risk free trial run up to $100. The offer ties into net losses incurred on casino accounts during the first 24 hours of placing first real money bet. FanDuel credentials will work for the Betfair site (plus there is a link on the sportsbook screen).
FanDuel has various promotions in place to make wagering more fun and unique with its fantasy sports, and it’s now doing the same with the new sportsbook. Capitalizing on the NFL season, New Jersey’s proximity to Philadelphia (the home of the Super Bowl champions), and local Giants and Jets fans, FanDuel offers a Gridiron Pick’Em that comes with a weekly award of $10,000.
As the season goes on and both hockey and basketball get into full swing, FanDuel players can look forward to new games and offers involving those sports. Rotating promotions for special events can also be expected, similar to what the company did for tennis and the US Open with a risk-free $50 bet offered for the finals.
FanDuel also wants to reward loyalty and spread the word about their product. Current players who refer friends to register for a new account receive $20 in bonus money to split with that friend.
Play a little, play a lot – it all adds up on your FanDuel Players Club rewards account, a points-based loyalty program that is activated automatically upon registration.
As long as you never let your account remain inactive for a year, the points will never expire. Just make one play in a 12-month period, and all accrued points will automatically roll over.
You can earn extra points and perks for more frequent plays. The FanDuel Players Club features several levels, and your current level is determined by the number of points you earned in the previous month. More frequent plays also mean greater rewards – the highest tiers come with as many as five free plays a month.
Because sports wagering is global and happening 24 hours a day, today’s player demands mobile access to their account, results, and the ever-changing odds. FanDuel provides a mobile app for both iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Android devices.
Additionally, because players don’t want to have to familiarize themselves with two different sportsbook experiences, FanDuel has made its mobile access look and feel nearly identical to its website.
Both homepages feature a list of shortcuts that take you directly to the sport you’re most interested in playing, as well as tabs that allow you to access each day’s popular events, current live events, and important upcoming games.
FanDuel also allows its users to register directly through the app and take care of all account activities – like deposits and withdrawals – from their mobile device.
The list of wagers that are unavailable at FanDuel’s online sportsbook is short. Any collegiate event taking place in New Jersey is off limits, as are events involving New Jersey colleges playing out of state. Other than that, the menu is full.
Straight bets, parlays, propositions, teasers, round robins and futures bets are all on offer. You can wager on anything from NASCAR to Danish soccer, MMA, and college and NFL football. In-play wagering is also available.
If you’re new to sports betting terminology, in-play wagering refers to action that is played while a game is already in progress. It features fluctuating odds and point spreads as the event plays out.
FanDuel also wants to appeal to the sports betting novice. The site features an entire page dedicated to explaining wager types, as well as lessons on the ins and outs of point spreads and money lines.
FanDuel offers players a wide range of methods for depositing money into their accounts.
Available payment methods include direct bank transfer, PayPal, and a FanDuel Prepaid Card. You can also fund your account using E-check/ACH, credit cards, and even cash through services provided by PayNearMe located inside 7-Elevens and CVS pharmacies.
FanDuel warns customers that some credit card companies label transactions with online gaming companies as cash advances, which means potential additional fees.
Withdrawing funds is just as easy as making deposits, although in some cases, processing delays can be expected.
If you used PayPal to fund your account, you can withdraw your winnings using the same method, although the money may take up to 48 hours to become available. You can also request to have E-checks deposited directly into a bank account by submitting your bank account and routing number.
Lastly, you can request to have a check sent directly to your home, although this option takes between five and seven business days to process.
FanDuel launched its physical sportsbook at The Meadowlands Racetrack on July 14, 2018. Just a few months later it also started its online sports betting platform in New Jersey.
FanDuel is offering sports betting as a result of its acquisition by European gaming operator Paddy Power Betfair, which plans to use the FanDuel brand for sports betting throughout the United States.
As online sportsbooks become more prevalent, the signup process becomes more straightforward. You no longer need to submit a photo ID to a faceless registration department. Signing up with FanDuel only requires your name, date of birth, email address, physical address, a phone number (home or cell), and a social security number.
When creating an account, you will need to choose a unique username and a password of at least eight characters. You will also be asked to answer two questions that will be used to further secure your account. Note that once you choose a username and security questions, they cannot be changed.
Your identity will be verified based on the provided information. However, if your account ever appears compromised, you may be required to submit a photo ID as part of a security review to ensure your account is protected.
State law requires players to be physically located within the borders of New Jersey to place any sports wagers. However, anyone at least 21 years of age can create a new FanDuel Sportsbook account regardless of their location. Age restrictions vary by state for FanDuel’s daily fantasy sports.
You must also be gaming eligible in the state of New Jersey – if you hold a Casino Key Employee license, you will not be allowed to gamble. Furthermore, anyone appearing on the New Jersey exclusion list is ineligible to place bets. This shortlist includes players, coaches, trainers (for athletes and horses), and other sports officials who are in a position to influence the outcome of events.
You do not need to be a New Jersey resident to register for an account. Anyone inside state lines (verified electronically) is eligible to play.
