Atlantic City Ballet will make its Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City debut with “Dracula” on Oct. 29, bringing a Halloween performance and a costume contest to Sound Waves.
The Thursday show starts at 7 p.m., with tickets priced at $50 plus applicable fees. Audiences ages five and older are welcome to attend the production, which arrives two days before Halloween.
Guests can also dress up and enter a costume contest, with prizes awarded at the show.
Tickets are available for the Oct. 29 performance
Tickets for the Thursday evening performance are on sale through Ticketmaster. The ticket listing sets a six-ticket limit for the event. Guests purchasing tickets for a larger party can contact Hard Rock’s box office for group sales information.
Children attending “Dracula” need their own tickets. Hard Rock’s general performance policy requires a ticket for every guest, regardless of age, along with appropriate adult supervision.
Accessible seating is available through Ticketmaster or Hard Rock’s box office. Guests seeking assistance can contact the box office at 609-449-6037.
Guests collecting tickets at will call can pick them up on the day of the performance during box office hours. Hard Rock requires photo identification and the purchasing credit card or confirmation number. Tickets cannot be collected before the show date.
Hard Rock’s standard ticket policy does not allow refunds or exchanges for an unchanged performance. If the event is canceled, ticket-holders are entitled to a refund of the ticket’s face value at the point of purchase.
Ballet adapts Bram Stoker’s vampire tale
“Dracula” features choreography by Atlantic City Ballet Artistic Director Phyllis Papa, adapting Bram Stoker’s story through dance, theatrical sets, costumes, and a dramatic score.
Hard Rock describes the production as a mix of mystery, suspense, and dark romance. Although the venue is new for the ballet, “Dracula” is an established part of the company’s repertoire and one of its biggest successes, with sold-out performances over its history.
“Ballet has a wild side, and ‘Dracula’ really brings it out,” Papa said in the announcement. “It’s beautiful, full of dramatic tension, and a perfect fit for Hard Rock.”
Costume contest comes with venue restrictions
Guests are invited to join the Halloween theme by wearing costumes to the performance and competing for prizes.
Hard Rock’s standard venue restrictions, however, prohibit masks and replica weapons. The restrictions apply to accessories such as prop swords, knives, and guns.
The venue also prohibits backpacks and bags larger than 10 inches by 10 inches. All bags are subject to searches, and guests undergo security screening before entering.
Sound Waves show offers a Boardwalk Halloween outing
The performance takes place at Hard Rock’s Sound Waves venue at 1000 Boardwalk in Atlantic City.
Guests combining the ballet with dinner have several restaurants at the property to choose from, including Hard Rock Cafe, YOUYU Noodle Bar, Council Oak Steaks & Seafood, and Kuro.
For visitors using Uber or Lyft, Hard Rock’s designated pickup and drop-off area is beside the valet arrival entrance.
