DraftKings customers now have more flexibility when deciding how long they want to step away from gambling.
The operator has introduced custom cool-off periods ranging from three to 364 days in most jurisdictions. Available options may differ for New Jersey customers depending on the product they use.
DraftKings has also launched an American football version of its Gamalyze self-assessment and a limited-time sweepstakes intended to encourage customers to explore its responsible gambling features.
The company announced the initiatives on Sept. 14. The rollout coincides with the beginning of the NFL season, when interest in sports betting typically increases.
How DraftKings’ custom cool-off periods work
The new cool-off setting allows customers to enter a specific number of days instead of choosing only from predetermined options. Where the full range is available, a player could select a two-week break, several months, or another period between three and 364 days.
Once activated, a cool-off temporarily prevents the customer from gambling through that DraftKings account for the period they selected. The feature gives customers a way to step back if they have spent more than planned or are gambling more frequently than they intended.
Because the cool-off applies only to a customer’s DraftKings account, it does not prevent them from accessing other gambling platforms. Customers who want a broader restriction can enroll in New Jersey’s self-exclusion program.
The program allows residents to exclude themselves from internet gaming and sports wagering, Atlantic City casinos and retail sports wagering facilities, or both. Enrollment information is available through NJ’s problem-gambling and self-exclusion website.
DraftKings launches Gamalyze American Football
DraftKings has also launched Gamalyze American Football, an interactive self-assessment developed with Mindway AI. Instead of asking players to complete a traditional questionnaire about their gambling habits, the football-themed activity examines the decisions they make as they participate.
Mindway says the tool evaluates how they react to possible rewards and losses before providing personalized feedback about their decision-making style.
The results may help players take a closer look at their gambling habits and consider whether their decisions match the limits they intended to follow.
Gamalyze does not automatically place any restrictions on a customer’s account, however. Players who decide to set a spending limit or take a temporary break must do so separately through DraftKings’ account controls.
DraftKings added Gamalyze Casino to its My Budget and Controls section in January before introducing a soccer-themed edition during the 2026 World Cup.
DraftKings PGA TOUR sweepstakes promotes responsible gambling tools
DraftKings is also running a PGA TOUR sweepstakes to encourage customers to explore two of its existing responsible gambling tools.
My Stat Sheet shows how much time and money a customer has spent on DraftKings, helping players compare their actual activity with what they planned. My Budget Builder allows customers to create an entertainment budget and review controls covering deposits, wagers and time spent playing.
Eligible customers who engage with features such as My Stat Sheet and My Budget Builder can enter the sweepstakes, which runs from Sept. 16 through Sept. 29. Players should review the promotion’s terms for complete eligibility and entry requirements.
