Il Mulino New York at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City has made OpenTable’s 2026 Top 100 Hotel Restaurants in America. It is the only New Jersey restaurant on the list.

The list carries no order of merit. OpenTable publishes it A to Z rather than one through 100, so no restaurant on it holds a numbered position.
OpenTable built the list from more than 10 million reviews by verified diners, covering May 1, 2025 through April 30, 2026. Restaurants needed a minimum volume of reviews to qualify. Scoring weighted diner ratings and the share of five-star reviews.
The recognition puts a national spotlight on one of Atlantic City’s best-known casino dining rooms. Plus, it adds to Hard Rock’s non-gaming appeal for visitors choosing where to stay and eat.
Why Hotel Dining Is Drawing Attention
OpenTable released consumer research alongside the list. Among surveyed diners, 61% have picked a destination for its food or restaurant scene. Among those planning summer travel, 60% booked a hotel specifically for its restaurant.
Reservation data points in the same direction. Hotel restaurant bookings by travelers rose 13% year over year.
Il Mulino Background
The original Il Mulino opened in Greenwich Village in 1981. The Atlantic City location arrived in September 2008 at Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort.
The Taj closed in October 2016. Hard Rock reopened the property in June 2018 and kept the restaurant, with a refresh.
Il Mulino occupies the first floor of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, near the Boardwalk entrance. The kitchen works in Abruzzese-rooted Italian cooking, with fresh pastas, an extensive antipasti list, and tableside preparations.
What It Signals for the Market
Atlantic City properties now compete on dining as much as on gaming floors and hotel rooms. A national listing gives Hard Rock a talking point for visitors comparing resorts.
