Several BetMGM Casino players enjoyed a very lucky 2022.

Well, parent company BetMGM sent out a press release Monday announcing it awarded $104.4 million last year in progressive jackpot payouts to online casinos players. Keep in mind, these big wins expand beyond the NJ gambling market.
New Jersey ranked No. 2 in BetMGM progressive jackpot payouts with $30.2 million behind Michigan ($38.3 million). The Pennsylvania market was third with $28.9 million.
Matt Prevost, chief revenue officer, BetMGM, said “We take tremendous pride in eclipsing the $100 million mark for jackpot payouts to BetMGM Casino players.”
“We continue to innovate our online gaming product and look forward to offering some of the highest progressive jackpots in the United States in 2023,” Prevost said.
NJ slot players crack BetMGM top five jackpot payouts
Three NJ online casino brands are part of the BetMGM jackpot network:
In terms of specific games, the BetMGM jackpot network currently consists of over 20 slot titles. They include:
- MGM Grand Millions
- Bison Fury
- Mirage Mega Magma
- Loot’En Khamun
- Dead Sea Scrolls
Speaking of Bison Fury, it’s the game one New Jersey BetMGM player hit for $2.8 million back in April. And it was the company’s biggest jackpot payout during 2022.
In April. another Garden State gambler hit for $2.2 million on Bison Fury. That was BetMGM’s fifth largest payout for all of last year.
BetMGM Casino continues to be a market leader
The big jackpots payouts allow companies like BetMGM to celebrate life-changing moments with its players. Being a market leader is another big part of the online casino success story.
According to the press release, BetMGM holds an estimated 29% national online casino market share. Besides the three previously mentioned states, the brand is available in West Virginia as well.
So what’s the secret? Oliver Bartlett, director of online game for BetMGM explains:
“A combination of in-house produced slots and engaging content from our fantastic suppliers has proved to be popular with players and fueled our position as the online casino market leader. We love hearing players’ stories and their reactions to winning lifechanging jackpots.” Bartlett said.
From a NJ online casino revenue perspective, BetMGM is a big reason why Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is the top dog among the eight Atlantic City casino license holders.
Looking back at the December results, Borgata and its online casino partners earned nearly a half-billion ($496.3 million). The market as a whole reported over $1.66 billion. Golden Nugget finished a distant second for 2022 with $431.7 million.
More New Jersey progressive jackpot stories expected in 2023
Will 2023 be the year BetMGM exceeds the $104.4 million in jackpot payouts? Being that we are only in January, it’s a strong possibility.
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement tracks the state’s jackpot payouts for both land-based and online casinos. The list, which is updated monthly, already includes two BetMGM payouts exceeding $100,000.
One player hit for $103,800 playing Gold Volcano while another won $142,780 playing Cleopatra Mega.
However, those wins don’t quite measure up to the most recent winner. Last week, an unnamed person in New Jersey hit for $2.8 million on a measly $2 bet playing MGM Grand Millions.
