When it comes to playing with your head, the more information at your disposal, the better. BetMGM responsible gaming concerns have led to the integration of the GameSense program into the gambling company’s app and website.

With the coming additional software, BetMGM Sportsbook and online casino customers will be able to use the platform to make better decisions. The app inclusion signals an expansion of MGM’s work with GameSense as well.

GameSense upgrades BetMGM responsible gaming

GameSense is a program that delivers personalized data and offers customized feedback to gamblers. For example, the program has the capability to track time spent gambling over customer parameters.

With that knowledge, it’s easier for players on NJ online casinos and sportsbooks like BetMGM to stay cognizant of their gambling activity. The idea is that will also enable players to set and stick to limits. Users can also set custom alerts to ensure they are aware when they hit their limits.

If a gambler feels he/she is struggling or simply has questions about playing responsibly, GameSense is there. It employs trained specialists called GameSense Advisors. They can connect gamblers with resources in their jurisdictions.

Although the British Columbia Lottery Corporation is the creator of the program, GameSense has a US headquarters in Boston. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission and all commercial casinos in that state utilize GameSense heavily.

This program might be new to the BetMGM app and website when it launches in the near future but MGM is quite familiar with it in a broader context.

Expansion rather than creation for MGM

MGM began using GameSense at its brick-and-mortar casinos in 2017, since expanding it for use across its properties. Members of the company’s M Life Rewards are likely familiar with it. MGM casinos have offered touchscreen consoles where customers could access their data.

“MGM Resorts is committed to supporting responsible gaming efforts at our properties nationwide and we’re pleased to extend GameSense into the BetMGM platform,” said Bill Hornbuckle, CEO & President, MGM Resorts, in a press release. “GameSense has been an instrumental and innovative part of our company’s guest service model for several years. Together, MGM Resorts and BetMGM are proud to help guests understand the risks, where to get help, and, ultimately, how to keep gaming fun.”

With better information at their disposal, BetMGM app users will soon be more likely to play responsibly. Of course, like any other tool, its positive impact is only as great as the extent to which NJ gamblers use it.
