Caesars Entertainment CEO Tom Reeg is expected to oversee Tilman Fertitta’s broader business empire, according to a report by Scott Roeben at Vital Vegas. The move comes as Fertitta’s acquisition of Caesars progresses.
The anticipated assignment would extend Reeg’s responsibilities beyond casinos to restaurants, hotels, resorts, and real estate.
Expanded role would include Landry’s and Golden Nugget
Reeg’s remit would encompass Caesars Entertainment, Fertitta Entertainment, Landry’s and Golden Nugget casinos, among other businesses. Landry’s includes 60 restaurant brands.
The Houston Rockets would be excluded from Reeg’s responsibilities, the report says. Fertitta is currently serving as U.S. ambassador to Italy and San Marino.
How the Fertitta–Caesars deal got here
Fertitta’s acquisition of Caesars was announced in May 2026 at approximately $17.6 billion. The original announcement said Reeg would continue leading Caesars; the broader assignment would expand that role.
Reeg became Caesars CEO on July 20, 2020. This was after Eldorado Resorts completed its acquisition of Caesars Entertainment and adopted the Caesars name. He previously became Eldorado’s CEO on Jan. 1, 2019.
The sale is expected to close by mid-2027.
