DraftKings Casino released a new progressive jackpot feature in October, and it’s only available only to its NJ online casino players.
The new jackpot is the first of its kind in North America, linking games across multiple genres. It has already hit, too, awarding a mid-six-figure payout within the first two weeks of launching.
More ways to win for NJ online casino players
Standard jackpots usually occur within a game, such as Pai Gow, blackjack or a specific slot machine title, and qualifying games or tables are linked together. However, the DraftKings’ in-house jackpot network takes this to a new level, linking together a variety of games to give players more opportunities to win.
In total, more than 20 options are available to NJ online casino players, including:
- DraftKings Blackjack and Single-Hand Blackjack
- American Roulette
- Ultimate X Poker Triple Play
Popular slots like Cleopatra, 88 Fortunes and Atlantis Megaways are part of the linked DraftKings progressive jackpots as well.

How DraftKings Casino progressive jackpot network works
In order to be eligible for the progressive jackpot in these games, players must first opt in. After that, an additional 10 cents is deducted from players’ wallets per spin (or hand) as the cost of jackpot participation. Here are a couple of screenshots showing where the opt-in button appears:
The cost of participation funds both the current jackpot and a future jackpot once the current one strikes. Mini jackpots of $1,000 are being won daily in the meantime, and when the main prize does hit, new jackpots reset at a minimum of $100,000.
The first progressive jackpot rose to $313,445.80 before a player on the DraftKings Casino app struck virtual gold on October 21.

Is future DraftKings Casino expansion coming soon?
Looking forward, DraftKings hopes to expand the online casino feature to other its other jurisdictions:

- Michigan
- Pennsylvania
- West Virginia

Beyond those, Illinois and Indiana could be picking up discussions to legalize online casino gambling in 2023. Massachusetts and New York may not be far off, either.
