You’ve seen jackpots won on casino floors in Atlantic City. You’ve seen customers of online casinos in New Jersey hit jackpots, as well. But you’ve never seen anything like this.
International Game Technology announced this week the introduction of the first omnichannel wide area progressive (WAP) jackpot in the United States. And it will begin with NJ online casinos.
Through the Wheel of Fortune slots link in New Jersey, players can spin for “large-scale wins,” according to a press release. The jackpot will combine land-based, mobile and online versions of IGT’s Wheel of Fortune slots.
Introducing omnichannel progressive jackpots
According to the press release, New Jersey online casino players can access the WAP link through all Wheel of Fortune $1 games. Each time the jackpot resets, it will do so back to $500,000.
That reset total, per the press release, equates to one of the highest in the Garden State.
While this marks the first omnichannel progressive jackpot on US soild, IGT has done this before.
The company rolled out Powerbucks in Canada in 2016. Since that launch, Canadian players have combined for more than 48 jackpots of at least $1 million.

Since launching online casinos a decade ago, New Jersey has seen the industry evolve into a giant. In fact, NJ online casinos set high-water marks in March and April of this year for the first- and second-best monthly revenue marks in state history. As a result, New Jersey surpassed $6 billion in lifetime revenue.

Upping the NJ online casinos game with omnichannel progressive jackpots
Progressive jackpots already represented a highly popular feature for online casinos in New Jersey.
Last month, DraftKings Casino NJ announced its largest awarded jackpot, as one user claimed $1.97 million playing Extra Chilli Megaways.
That increased DraftKings’ New Jersey progressive jackpot payouts to over $8.7 million.
Games with progressive jackpots see prizes increase with each play that does not claim top winnings. Of course, those only occur for users playing NJ online casinos.
With WAP, any Wheel of Fortune player – online or in a casino – can contribute to a massive payday for lucky customers.
