Bally’s Corp. continues making significant strides toward its stated goal of becoming an omnichannel gambling operator.
With recent developments – such as the launch of Bally Online Casino in Pennsylvania, an ongoing multi-million-dollar reinvestment at its Atlantic City casino hotel and the expansion of its online sportsbook, Bally Bet – the company is stepping up its game and gaining the attention of gamblers across the Northeast and the US.
Still expanding with launch of Bally’s PA online casino
The one-time regional operator known as Twin River bought the Bally’s name from Caesars Entertainment for $25 million in 2020. Since then, Bally’s Corp. has invested in everything from brick-and-mortar casinos to digital media to daily fantasy sports.
All of it is geared toward making the iconic gambling brand a serious player again. The omnichannel strategy involves Bally’s infiltrating multiple aspects of entertainment, gaming and sports.
On Thursday, Bally Online Casino entered its second market with a PA launch. Gamblers can play real-money slots, table games and live dealer games through the app, such as the existing Bally NJ Online Casino. Android and iOS users can download the free app.
New Jersey and Pennsylvania are two of six states that currently allow legal online casino gambling. Until Michigan recently overtook the two neighboring states, NJ and PA had been the top two revenue-generating jurisdictions for online casino operators.
While expanding, Bally’s still cares for Atlantic City roots
Bally’s Corp. is expanding its reach into the online sports betting arena with Bally Bet. The online sportsbook is now available in multiple states, including New York, the country’s largest legal sports gambling market. Bally Bet is also among the sports betting options in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa and Virginia.
In Atlantic City, Bally’s has paid particular attention to its flagship property. Twin River bought the casino at the corner of Boardwalk and Park Place for $25 million, then promptly turned around and spent more than $100 million upgrading the aging building.
Over 1,200 hotel rooms and suites have been completely renovated at Bally’s Atlantic City in the last two years. The hotel lobby also got a facelift and the new 360-degree rotating Carousel Bar.
On the casino floor, Bally’s is home to the FanDuel Sportsbook and a new high-limit slot room. The Yard, an indoor/outdoor courtyard entertainment and dining complex opened on the Boardwalk last summer.
Bally’s continues pursuit for national dominance
Bally’s Corp. is also making a name for itself nationally.
The company beat out several rivals for the right to operate a Chicago casino, which is tentatively scheduled to open in 2026. Chicagoland is among the top 10 US gambling markets.
In Las Vegas, Bally’s owns the famous Tropicana. Recently, the company announced a deal with MLB‘s Oakland Athletics to relocate the team to Sin City and construct a new baseball stadium on the Trop site. That deal is not yet finalized.
