The world of online casinos in New Jersey may be in the midst of a renaissance with upgrade game titles, styles and experiences.
The latest example comes from BetMGM.
As laid out in a press release, BetMGM teamed up with Inspired Entertainment to develop and launch MGM Bonus City, as described as an “innovative online Hybrid Dealer game” — and it’s launching first in New Jersey, before spreading to other iGaming states such as Michigan and Pennsylvania.
How MGM Bonus City works with BetMGM Casino NJ
As found in the Garden State now with BetMGM Casino New Jersey, MGM Bonus City leverages groundbreaking technology from Inspired Entertainment to create “an unparalleled gaming experience” by integrating footage of real dealers, green screen tech and CGI.
The byproduct, according to a press release, is the game transporting players to Las Vegas. There, you can choose from eight possible outcomes that spin on a big wheel, which features four iconic MGM property-themed bonus rounds:
- New York-New York
- Luxor
- MGM Grand
- Bellagio
Before the spin, however, the game could randomly award you with a special multiplier to increase your potential winnings.
MGM Bonus City is available on desktop, via the BetMGM Casino NJ app and on Android devices. The company said iOS users will have access to the game “in the upcoming weeks.”

What is ‘Hybrid Dealer’?
It seems MGM fully expects this style of game to revolutionize the iGaming landscape.
The company describes “Hybrid Dealer” as a new category of gaming “that offers players branded casino and gameshow content by blending physical and digital elements. Hybrid Dealer game outcomes require no studio as they are RNG-generated. The scheduled action continues 24/7, with the hosts changing regularly to keep players engaged.”
“MGM Bonus City brings an added level of fun to BetMGM, allowing players to experience MGM Resorts’ Las Vegas casinos in a new way,” Oliver Bartlett, senior director of gaming at BetMGM, said in a press release. “We’re confident that our customers will enjoy this unique digital offering.”
Added Brooks Pierce, president and CEO of Inspired:
“We are thrilled to partner with BetMGM to introduce our revolutionary Hybrid Dealer technology via MGM Bonus City,” said Brooks Pierce, President and Chief Executive Officer of Inspired. “Our patented technology offers unparalleled opportunities for our customers to provide a realistic ‘as live’ experience to players without the logistics of dedicated studios and staffing. This is just the start of a whole new category of games.”
