BetMGM Online Casino Player Hits $930K Jackpot In N.J.

A New Jersey online casino player hit a slot jackpot for nearly $1 million, according to a news release.

A BetMGM Casino player from Gloucester City won $932,149.72 on IGT MegaJackpots Wheel of Fortune On Air.
The BetMGM jackpot is the fourth-largest of the year in New Jersey, according to casino data from the state. It is the second-largest online casino jackpot in 2021.

Matthew Sunderland, vice president of gaming for BetMGM, called it an “amazing win.”

“Whenever we see a jackpot prize of this size, we feel proud of the opportunities we’re providing BetMGM Casino players and are driven to continue building upon the strongest gaming portfolio in the U.S.”

N.J. online casino has a new top dog

BetMGM uses Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa’s casino license to offer online gaming and sports betting in NJ.

The online casino portfolio includes BetMGM Casino, Borgata Casino, and PartyCasino. Scores and Pala casino also operate under the Borgata license but are not BetMGM brands.

Borgata has been the Atlantic City market leader for much of its 18-year history. Recently, the MGM Resorts International property and its online partners have started flexing their digital muscle as well.

Through August, Borgata, BetMGM, and Party are the online gaming market leaders in NJ. The combined entities have reported over $264 million in revenue in 2021, which is 129% higher than a year ago.

The biggest NJ jackpots for 2021

The year’s first million-dollar jackpot happened on Jan. 2 when an online player using 888Casino hit for more than $1.54 million on Millionaire Genie.

There have been two mega jackpots won at Atlantic City casinos in 2021.

In September, a guest at Resorts Casino Hotel playing Wheel of Fortune Pink Diamond won $1.644 million. It is the largest jackpot this year.
On July 17, someone playing Golden Wins won an amount of $1 million or greater at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City. The specific amount is unknown.
