It’s official: BetMGM will be integrating the National Hockey League into its portfolio of online casino games.
As Christmas neared, the gaming operator announced that it expanded its existing multiyear partnership with the NHL, which allows BetMGM “to design team and League-branded casino games,” according to a press release.
An original official sports betting partner of the league dating back to 2018, BetMGM now has the league’s authorization to expand the NHL brand to the NJ online casino side of the world.
More NHL-branded games coming to BetMGM Casino NJ
As a result of the extended deal with the NHL, BetMGM will see “significant branding” within nationally televised broadcasts in the US. That not only includes the regular season but also throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
“We are thrilled about our partnership extension with BetMGM,” Jason Jazayeri, vice president of business development for the NHL, said in a press release.
“The evolution of our partnership with BetMGM will focus on building unique and compelling fan experiences, as well as event activation and media programming all with an eye towards delivering exciting new ways for our fans to interact and engage with the sport they love.”
As part of the deal, of course, BetMGM Online Casino NJ will look to develop and introduce NHL-branded casino games. On top of that, though, the company will also offer specialized VIP fan experiences.
“Our partnership extension with the NHL enables us to enhance the BetMGM product and offer fans unforgettable entertainment built around the game they love,” BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said in the press release. “The NHL is more thrilling than ever – a symphony of athleticism, teamwork, and skill on skates. We look forward to bringing our customers exceptional live experiences and new content.”
BetMGM already features NHL-endorsed casino game
This official announcement comes a few weeks after BetMGM launched the first-ever NHL-endorsed online slot game.
Earlier this month, BetMGM Online Casino went live with NHL Gold Blitz, a 6-by-4 video slot that features over 4,000 ways to win.
A “first-of-its-kind slot,” as Oliver Bartlett, vice president of gaming product and content at BetMGM, described it, NHL Gold Blitz features logos from all 32 NHL teams and various multipliers and jackpots that creates “a hat trick of excitement and entertainment.”
That launch signaled the arrival of a sports-casino crossover that BetMGM had already started. Now, with this official deal with the NHL, we will see how far MGM will take it.
