PointsBet online casino launch plans are still in the “to be determined” stages. But NJ online gambling fans now know a little about what games will be available when the launch does happen. PointsBet has partnered with Evolution Gaming for its iGaming launch in NJ.
Evolution is the home of live dealer games plus a popular “Game Show” category, featuring several brands that consumers should already be familiar with. The full menu boasts other staples as well.
PointsBet’s deal with Evolution
Live dealer casino games are not new in New Jersey. Golden Nugget online casino was the first to introduce the concept to NJ online casinos back in 2016. The games are now available on the majority of casino apps in the state.
For PointsBet, this means the online casino app will have a component that gamblers in NJ expect: live casino.
“We are thrilled to partner with Evolution Gaming to launch live casino technology in US jurisdictions, where we plan to offer our proprietary online casino platform,” said Seth Young, chief innovation officer at PointsBet. “The addition of Evolution Live Casino extends the appeal of PointsBet’s premium product in the rapidly growing US market.”
The partnership with Evolution isn’t exclusive for either party, however. That means other brands in NJ that already offer Evolution’s live dealer games can do so, and PointsBet is free to contract with other game providers.
Sebastian Johannisson, Evolution’s chief commercial officer, clarified the PointsBet deal further:
“Evolution’s Live Casino portfolio offers PointsBet a rich mix of world-leading online live casino games including classic table games, online poker variants that are big favorites with US players, and our new generation of award-winning, record-breaking game show games. In addition, PointsBet will have the option of exclusively branded dedicated tables and environments, should they require these.”
Evolution’s live casino studio in Atlantic City has been around since August 2018. Construction on a Pennsylvania and Michigan studio is underway.
PointsBet online casino games + live dealer
The most unique element of the Evolution Gaming live casino platform is a “first-person” experience.
The first-person games are essentially virtual games with a unique camera angle. The game’s design is meant to simulate your view while playing the games if you were physically at a casino instead of at home on your smartphone.
For example, Evolution uses 3D-rendering to create a first-person roulette experience. Game players will see the table, the wheel, all the action happening as if they were physically standing at the table.
Another set of offerings that might attract NJ gamblers is the game show category. In this menu, players can find games styled after classics such as Deal or No Deal and Monopoly.
As far as online poker goes, the menu includes three-card, five-card, and even seven-card games.
The most pressing question for NJ gamblers, however, is what about slots at PointsBet online casino?
Next steps for PointsBet
As of yet, PointsBet hasn’t announced any partnership to provide slots for its online casino. It’s possible that the company may develop its own. It does have a proprietary online casino platform at its disposal.
Another option would be to partner with a third party to provide online slots as it has already done with Evolution Gaming. Given PointsBet’s broad timeline for launch, it’s possible this is still in the works right now.
PointsBet expects to launch its online casino in NJ in the second half of this year. When that does come, however, it will be hard for NJ gamblers to miss.
PointsBet already has an online presence in the state through NJ online sports betting. Sportsbook customers should expect to receive marketing emails, push notifications, and special promos to give the online casino a spin.
At that time, PointsBet’s customers will get to try the array of online casino games that Evolution provides. PointsBet is betting the success of its online casino product on that evolution.
