Does Joe Burrow versus Trevor Lawrence on Thursday Night Football.
Does the matchup sound familiar?
It should as it’s a rematch of the 2019 CFP National Championship Game between Burrow’s LSU Tigers and Lawrence’s Clemson Tigers. LSU won the game, 42-25. Since that meeting, Burrow was selected No. 1 by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2020 NFL Draft. And earlier this year, the Jacksonville Jaguars made Lawrence the No. 1 overall pick.
This sets the NJ sports betting props table for tonight’s game between the 0-3 Jags and 2-1 Bengals. As of early this afternoon, the Bengals are a 7.5-point favorite at NJ online sportsbooks.
However, for gamblers who don’t like either side, there are several attractive odds boosts for tonight’s game we’ll get into below.

Burrow versus Lawrence passing yards NJ bet boosts
PointsBet NJ is one of the NJ online sportsbooks offering boosted markets for tonight’s game.
One angle centers around Burrow’s total passing yards and a Bengals win. Will the QB throw for 225-plus passing yards leading to a Cincinnati victory? The +120 odds (boosted from +100 or even money) show the book believes there is a strong chance of it happening.
However, through his first three games, Burrow has thrown for over 225 yards just once. That would be his 261-yard, two-touchdown performance versus the Minnesota Vikings during NFL Week 1. Over the same period, the Jags defense is surrendering just over 300 yards per game.
The Bengals offense also includes Burrow’s former college teammate Ja’Marr Chase, who the Bengals selected in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft. So far, the rookie WR has 220 receiving yards and four touchdowns. It comes out to 73.3 yards per game.
So based on those numbers, bettors may like Chase’s chances of having 50 or more receiving yards and catching at least one touchdown. PointsBet boosted the odds to +160 from +140.
Switching to the Jags offense, the book has another one centered around Lawrence. Will the rookie QB finish the game with 200-plus passing yards and two TDs? He is averaging 223 passing yards through the first three games of his NFL career. The two touchdown passes could be iffy as he only has five TDs so far, with three of them coming in a Week 1 loss to the Houston Texans. On a side note, Lawrence also has five interceptions for far.
PointsBet has boosted the odds to +165 from +145.
More Thursday Night Boosts for NJ bettors

- Burrow to have one-plus passing touchdown in each half is +170
- Chase to record the most receiving yards is +260
At DraftKings Sportsbook, 10 or more points to be scored in the first quarter now has odds of +10, boosted from -105.
What about Chase recording a touchdown reception of 45 yards or more? Those odds have been boosted from +550 to +700.
The bottom line is, no matter which side bettors play, Burrow vs. Lawrence NFL edition will be the talk of Thursday Night Football.
