Buffalo Gold Max Power, the fifth game in Aristocrat Gaming’s Buffalo slots franchise, is now available at online casinos in New Jersey through the company’s iGaming division, Aristocrat Interactive.
Previous to the launch, Buffalo Gold Max Power was only available at land-based casinos.

A spokesperson for Aristocrat told PlayNJ that the game “should be available on all” online casinos in New Jersey, including Caesars and BetMGM.
Aristocrat has long been one of the biggest names in retail slot machines. It waited until 2022 to form an online development studio, however, and until recently, online casinos were filled with Buffalo imitators but not the real thing. Its US online slots debut was in New Jersey in September 2023, with BetMGM.
How Buffalo Gold Max Power works
The Western-themed Buffalo Gold Max Power implements the same type of gameplay you get with other games in the franchise.
Each spin gives you the chance to earn win multipliers by getting the right combination of animal, coin, letter, and number symbols. Buffalos boost winnings, with winning buffalo combinations activating an animated icon and a small chorus of voices shouting, “Buffalo!”
What differentiates Max Power from other Buffalo games is that the reel symbols vary in size. On any given spin, each reel can produce anywhere between two and six symbols. Since all ways pay, that means the number of paylines can be from 64 up to a whopping 46,656 when six symbols appear on every reel.
Players can enter a bonus round by landing three coin-shaped Scatter symbols on a single play. The bonus round begins with a cut scene of buffalo stampeding by the screen. Then, a pop-up tells you how many free spins you earned for your bonus round. Your wins accumulate throughout the round and are added to your balance at the end.
The “Gold” aspect of Buffalo Gold Max Power comes into play during the bonus round. Special Gold Buffalo symbols can appear during free spins, which randomly convert other symbol types into more buffalos.

The Buffalo franchise has provided some big wins at NJ land-based casinos since the beginning of the year. Data from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement shows that Aristocrat’s Buffalo games have produced more than 30 wins of at least $50,000. The biggest jackpot came via a $119,164 progressive win via a Lighting Buffalo Link machine on Jan. 6 at Ocean Casino Resort.
