Despite debuting as recently as September, Buffalo, a game from Aristocrat Gaming (also called Anaxi), is the most popular retail slot game in the United States.
Anaxi’s Buffalo made its New Jersey online casino debut via BetMGM just a few weeks ago. And already, it has made a name for itself. But it’s the land-based performance that has taken notice.
From humble NJ beginnings, Buffalo becomes top performer
Data released in early December from a report by the Eilers-Fantini Central Game Performance Database revealed that Buffalo ranked No. 1 in gross gaming revenue (GGR) across the US for the month of November based on retail slots activity.
The Buffalo slots game is available at Atlantic City casinos in New Jersey (where it made its debut) – including Ocean Casino Resort and Golden Nugget Atlantic City – and from most online casino apps in the state, including BetMGM Online Casino NJ and FanDuel Casino NJ.
The Eilers-Fantini does not include online slots game play data.
According to Eilers-Fantini, Anaxi’s Buffalo had the highest GGR percentage for November at 4.55%. That data includes retail gaming activity across the country, from more than 20 states that participate, and dozens of casinos.
How other slots rank, according to Eilers-Fantini
Eilers-Fantini produces monthly and quarterly Game Performance Reports, each about 70 pages of in-depth information gleaned from casinos and apps from multiple casino technology platforms. The reports, seen as the standard in the industry, rank the top games and list key performance indicators.
The top table game is Blackjack (from IGT), according to Eilers-Fantini. Buffalo knocked that title from the No. 1 GGR position in November. Blackjack fell from 3.7% GGR in October to 3.5% in November.

November was the second straight month that saw Fire And Roses Poker in the No. 2 position. Currently, Mega Diamond and Fire and Roses Poker are available on most online casinos in New Jersey, as is 88 Fortunes.
Of the top 25 games based on GGR, 18 of them were slots in November. Evolution, with five titles, had the most of any gaming company in the top 25 last month. The top new release, which debuted in November, was Thunder Cash Senor Muerte from Greentube, which debuted at sixth overall.
