Neil Patrick Harris Stars In New Golden Nugget Campaign To ‘Make Any Moment Golden’

You knew him as Doogie Howser, MD. You knew him as the legendary Barney Stinson. Now, New Jersey online casino players will know Neil Patrick Harris as the new face of Golden Nugget Online Gaming.

The company announced this week the new cross-channel “Make Any Moment Golden” campaign starring the 51-year-old Emmy and Tony award-winner, which features two commercials starring NPH playing the piano.

“The campaign refresh infuses an optimistic tone,” Golden Nugget Online Gaming (GNOG) said in a release, “with an entertainment value that is synonymous with Golden Nugget Online Gaming’s roots in Vegas.”

The first-ever cross-channel campaign from GNOG highlights Harris’ showmanship as he somehow is able to play the piano in any situation alongside regular Golden Nugget Online Casino NJ players.

Take one spot, for example, where NPH provides the soundtrack while some friends land fish on a boat:

“He’s fishing for some tuna, playing Live Dealer while he waits.
He hasn’t had a nibble, but he caught a pair of eights.
It’s like he’s sitting at the tables, while he’s on the high seas.
Golden Nugget Online Casino, can we get some face cards please?”

Another commercial takes place at a pet grooming salon:

“You’re waiting for your doggie, playing slots, blackjack and more.
How ’bout a Jackpot baby? It’s all the fun of the casino floor.
Golden Nugget Online Casino, always a crowd pleaser.
So live it up while you wait, for that golden retriever.”

Can NPH help Golden Nugget push back in NJ online casino market?

In the 10-plus years that New Jersey has featured legal online casinos, no licenseholder has performed better than Golden Nugget Atlantic City.

All told, Golden Nugget and its online partners have generated some $2.36 billion in NJ online casino revenue. Only Borgata comes close at $2.1 billion.

It should come as no surprise that Golden Nugget’s partners stand as some of the heaviest hitters in the Garden State. Since the state began reporting individual skin revenue in January, three of the top seven operate as Golden Nugget partners, obviously including Golden Nugget Online Casino, which ranks seventh. The others: FanDuel (No. 2 in New Jersey) and BetRivers (No. 6).

The Golden Nugget brand has been big in New Jersey, as the licenseholder has topped the monthly revenue market in each of the past eight months as the industry heads toward a potential record-setting year.
