The last several years have seen gambling and casino companies embracing new technologies that integrate online and in-person experiences. This industry-wide pivot is essential in a digital-driven economy.

Casino patrons can access hotel rooms, order room service, buy show tickets, make spa reservations or check their comps on a mobile app. Live dealer blackjack, roulette, baccarat and poker are popular with internet gamblers. Online sports betting has been the fastest-growing industry segment in the U.S. over the last five years.

The time has come for slot technology to get an upgrade.

Play ‘MGM Riches’ at home or at Borgata in Atlantic City

MGM Resorts International and BetMGM are introducing a cross-channel progressive slot game that can be played online or at traditional machines inside casinos throughout the U.S.

MGM Riches is a multi-denomination, multi-level progressive slot game offering players two themes: ‘MGM Riches Triple Ruby‘ and ‘MGM Riches 5x Sapphire.’ A press release states, “gameplay is consistent whether in-person at 15 MGM Resorts destinations across the country or online via BetMGM’s iCasino platform in Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.”

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City is an MGM Resorts property. The Las Vegas-based casino conglomerate and Entain plc are 50/50 partners on BetMGM.

Engaging players ‘wherever’ they may be

Mike Gatten, MGM Resorts International’s senior vice president of slot strategy, says:

“MGM Riches is designed to engage and entertain our slot customers wherever they choose to play. With guest experience at the core of what we do, we created this custom game for our loyal slot customers who enjoy playing their favorite games and earning rewards even when they’re not at one of our properties.”

MGM Riches awards MGM Rewards and BetMGM Rewards tier credits, allowing players to earn benefits at brick-and-mortar casino locations. Players can also qualify for multiple member-only experiences, including exclusive concerts and sporting events, gaming tournaments and the annual Holiday Gift Shoppe.

MGM dominating NJ, AC gambling market

NJ gaming regulators do not break down online operator revenue by individual site or app. Instead, the financial data is credited to the Atlantic City casino licensee. In 2022, Borgata’s online casino partners reported a combined $496.3 million in revenue, the highest total in the state. Likewise, Borgata’s $724.4 million in land-based revenue last year was best in the AC casino market.

Angus Nisbet, BetMGM’s vice president of gaming, says:

“The launch of MGM Riches directly connects BetMGM’s leading online casino offerings to MGM Resorts iconic destinations. We are thrilled to offer this first-of-its-kind slot and to continue to bring innovative content to our players.”

Teamwork makes the dream work

MGM Riches is developed in collaboration with Everi Holdings, one of the gambling industry’s largest tech and equipment suppliers.

David Lucchese, Everi’s executive vice president of sales, marketing and digital, notes that MGM Riches “adds to Everi Digital’s catalog of nearly 70 distinct titles.”

“The development of MGM Riches is another example of MGM Resorts’ and BetMGM’s focus on patron engagement, their commitment to being top-tier operators in land-based and online, and Everi’s ability to deliver exciting, omnichannel gaming entertainment experiences to both land-based and online players.”
