NYRA Bets has officially launched for New Jersey horseplayers, two years after Darby Development and NYRA Bets first struck the deal that made it possible.

NYRA Bets is now the managing vendor of the parimutuel NJ horse betting industry, an arrangement the deal enables through advanced deposit wagering (ADW).

Two years in the making

Since partnering two years ago, NYRA Bets has been able to offer ADW through Darby Development, letting customers download the app and wager on races from tracks across the country.

NYRA Bets needed approval from the NJ Racing Commission to become the managing vendor of the pari-mutuel wagering system.

Tony Allevato, NYRA chief revenue officer and president of NYRA Bets, said in a statement:

“We are excited for the opportunity to introduce NYRA Bets to horseplayers in the Garden State.

“Thanks to our regulatory partners and stakeholders in New Jersey, who have worked diligently on this effort for the last two years, NYRA Bets has arrived to expand consumer choice and help grow the sport.”

What NYRA Bets offers NJ bettors

NYRA Bets has a customizable, user-friendly race menu displaying action across the country. It also provides the following features:

  • Handicapping tools for races
  • Horse-specific replays and stats
  • Multiple video feeds
  • Ongoing promotions

The operator is offering $200 in new member bonuses for a limited time, similar to iGaming platforms providing NJ online casino bonuses.

More operators could follow

The key part of the press release revealed that more horse racing operators could follow suit. NYRA Bets announced:

“Accordingly, all account wagering platforms can gain entry to the New Jersey market by seeking the required approval of NYRA Bets, Darby Development, and the New Jersey Racing Commission.”

4NJBets was previously the only other ADW platform operating in the Garden State. NYRA Bets said 4NJBets will continue to operate without disruptions.

NYRA Bets is currently available in 38 states, with New Jersey being the latest addition. Not only has the operator entered a new market, it’s providing a pathway for others to join, too, such as FanDuel Racing NJ and DK Horse.
