Ocean Casino Resort has officially opened Ocean’s 18 Mini Golf & Bar, a new entertainment venue that brings mini golf onto the casino floor in Atlantic City.
The resort marked the opening on Jan. 17 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that included appearances by actor Christopher McDonald, best known for his role as “Shooter McGavin” in “Happy Gilmore,” and “Jersey Shore” personalities Sammi Giancola and Jenni Farley.
First of its kind in Atlantic City
Ocean’s 18 is located next to LaScala’s Fire on the Casino Level and spans 8,000 square feet across two levels, according to the resort. Ocean Casino Resort said the venue is the first mini golf course ever built inside an Atlantic City casino.
The attraction includes two nine-hole courses designed to reflect the Jersey Shore’s traditional mini golf aesthetic while adding modern interactive elements aimed at casino visitors, families, and groups.
All-ages attraction by day, adults-only at night
Ocean’s 18 is open to guests of all ages during daytime hours. After 9 p.m., the venue transitions into a 21-and-over sports bar experience, featuring large-screen televisions, music, and a full bar.
The drink menu includes specialty cocktails such as the Jaws 18, a blue martini made with Ketel One vodka, and the Pineapple Par, along with seasonal cocktails and frozen granitas.
Technology-driven mini golf experience
A key feature of Ocean’s 18 is its use of hologram technology from HYPERVSN, the same company behind visuals at Las Vegas’ Sphere.
Guests are greeted by Ava the Avatar, a virtual host that can communicate in more than 15 languages and challenge players to attempt the venue’s signature Challenge Hole. Above the bar, a 12-foot Great White Shark hologram dominates the space, which the resort describes as the largest hologram ever installed in a casino or mini golf course.
Players can track scores using QR-code scorecards and view a real-time leaderboard, adding a competitive element to the experience.
Investments in amenities
Ocean’s 18 is also available for private and corporate events, with options to reserve individual courses or the entire venue, along with catering and customized hologram displays, said Bill Callahan, GM of Ocean Casino Resort.
“Ocean’s 18 Mini Golf & Bar represents everything we strive for at Ocean Casino Resort: innovation, energy, and experiences that bring people together.”
The opening adds to Ocean’s growing slate of non-gaming attractions. In 2025, Ocean Casino invested $50 million into new guest rooms and an expanded Asian gaming space, along with adding two STARR restaurants at the property.
