The Borgata Winer Poker Open is returning in 2025 with some new features that extend beyond the felt and into the online realm, thanks to BetMGM Poker.

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and BetMGM Poker announced the 2025 BWPO will run from January 2-17, 2025, at the Borgata’s Central Conference Center. The schedule features 58 events and $5 million in guaranteed prize pools, headlined by the $2 million guaranteed BWPO Championship, which has a $3,500 buy-in.

BetMGM Poker will have a significant presence, too. The $100,000 BetMGM Online Hybrid Championship event is one of 11 events to be live-streamed during the festival, and players can utilize same-day registration for the event through the BetMGM Poker NJ app.

BWPO to feature 58 different poker events

The 58-event 2025 BWPO schedule has two primary components. They are a 32-tournament “Main Event” schedule, and a 26-tournament “secondary qualifier schedule.”

The Main Event schedule includes the most significant events of the series, including the Borgata Winter Poker Open $2 Million Guaranteed Championship.

Buy-ins range from $220 to the $10,700 High Roller Experience event, which offers players a three-night stay, a welcome party, a breakfast buffet, and table-side massage therapy included in their tournament buy-in. Most tournaments cost $600 or less to enter.

The secondary schedule offers 10 smaller events plus 18 satellite tournaments. Most buy-ins are in the $155-$515 range, but there are also multiple High Roller satellites ($1,115 and $2,185), a one-in-five qualifier to the BWPO Championship ($770) and a Big 4 Qualifier. You can find more information about the Big 4 below.

Borgata will also have a $50,000 BWPO series leaderboard, guaranteeing prizes for the top 10 players.

An online connection, both playing and streaming

Coming off the heels of a successful interstate poker launch in November between its New Jersey and Michigan player pools, BetMGM Poker will run a hybrid online championship event with a $100,000 guarantee as part of the 2025 BWPO.

This $1,000 buy-in event is only available for New Jersey online poker players. It begins online on January 5 and plays down to the final table, which will be played and live-streamed at Borgata on January 9.

In addition to the hybrid event, Borgata and BetMGM will provide live streaming for 11 events throughout the series. This includes all major guaranteed tournaments, the final rounds of the $2,500 Heads Up Championship and three other events:

  • The first-ever BetMGM Big League Live Stream Event
  • The 10-10 PLO Live Stream
  • The Ladies Pink Chip Live Stream

2025 BWPO schedule features multiple mini-series

Several mini-series exist within the 2025 BWPO schedule. The “Big 4” headlines those mini-series with the major guaranteed prize pool events.

  • Event #1 (Jan 2-6): $600 Kick Off Deep Stack – $1 Million guaranteed
  • Event #7 (Jan 5-8): $1,250 Mirror Mystery Bounty – $500K guaranteed
  • Event #12 (Jan 7-11) $400 Almighty Million – $1 Million guaranteed
  • Event #27 (Jan 12-16): $3,500 Borgata Winter Poker Open Championship – $2 Million guaranteed

All four events will have live-streamed final tables, and the Championship event will have a live-streamed featured table on Day 3. Additionally, the BetMGM Poker Championship Chase (Event #18 on Jan 9) will guarantee 15 seats to the BWPO Championship.

The remaining $500,000 in guarantees comes from four additional events:

  • Event #19 (Jan 10-11): $1,140 6-Max Deepstack Championship – $100K guaranteed
  • Event #22 (Jan 11): $365 Seniors (50+) Championship – $50K guaranteed
  • Event #23 (Jan 11): $400 Saturday Series – $100K guaranteed
  • Event #31 (Jan 15-17): $570 Monster Mirror Mystery Bounty – $250K guaranteed

The “Deep, Deeper, Deepest Series” fits within the schedule with three events:

  • Event #9 (Jan 5): $400 NLH
  • Event #14 (Jan 7): $500 NLH
  • Event #28 (Jan 12): $580 NLH

Last but certainly not least, for us mixed game lovers, the Mixed Event Mini-Series accounts for 10 of the 32 tournaments on the Main Event schedule. A different mixed tournament is scheduled every day between January 2 and January 11 at 1:15 p.m.
