BetMGM announced the addition of a popular new slot, Dragon Train, which is also going to cross-over into Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa to create an omnichannel experience between the Atlantic City casino and the New Jersey online casino landscape.
The online operator is leaning into the top retail casino in the state, and also the country, to drive revenue to its NJ online casino.
Dragon Train to create omnichannel experience
Game manufacturer Light & Wonder created Dragon Train slots, which has been one of the most popular titles in Australia. The game now has an iGaming home in New Jersey as well as Michigan and West Virginia.
Dragon Train – Chi Lin Wins is the first of four titles in the series that is coming to BetMGM Casino NJ. In addition, Atlantic City casino goers can experience the slot at the Borgata. The new slot is displayed on a dual-screen cabinet.
According to a press release, the Borgata Atlantic City offered multiple promotions this weekend in regard to the new slot on the gaming floor. Borgata VP of Casino Operations James Bruno, said in a statement:
“The addition of Dragon Train to our gaming portfolio highlights our ongoing commitment to enhancing our casino offerings and delivering top-notch guest entertainment.”
The Borgata reported $64.3 million in total gaming win in June, which led all Atlantic City casinos. It also produced the most slot revenue at $44.8 million.
BetMGM becomes first operator to launch Dragon Train online
The Dragon Train slot has been wildly popular in the Australia market since debuting last year. BetMGM is now the first platform in the US to make the game accessible.
Dragon Train – Chi Lin Wins is a 5×3 reel with four progressive jackpots, including Fortune 8, Grand, and Major. The game also features a Hold and Spin option, which triggers the Dragon Train if a player lands on an orb. It also includes new Sticky Reels and a Cash Cluster game.
The slot also contains a mini Hold and Spin that adds more credits to an original win, and a chance at the Fortune 8 Jackpot. Oliver Bartlett, VP of Gaming Product and Content, said in a press release:
“BetMGM is honored and excited to be the first iGaming operator to bring Dragon Train to the United States. The game’s incredible performance in Australia set a high standard and we are confident that Light & Wonder has created a game that will captivate players online and on U.S. casino floors.”
There are three more titles that are part of the Dragon Train series that are expected to launch at a later date. Those include:

- Sun Shots
- Forever Emperor
BetMGM has collected $132.6 million in NJ iGaming revenue YTD, which makes it the third-ranked platform, behind FanDuel and DraftKings.
The third-best online casino joining forces with the state’s top retail casino is certainly a strong, and fruitful partnership.
