A 3-year-old boy was seriously hurt in an Atlantic City hit-and-run. NBC10 Philadelphia reported he is now back home and recovering.
Court documents cited in the report say police used surveillance video to track the suspect vehicle. The vehicle was later found at Borgata Hotel and Casino.
Child Back Home After Weeks of Treatment
NBC10 identified the child as Isaiah Lawrence. His father, Frank Lawrence, said the crash happened steps from the family’s home in Atlantic City.
His father said Isaiah suffered significant skull and spinal cord injuries. Isaiah spent weeks receiving hospital care and rehabilitation. Frank Lawrence told NBC10 that his son is now walking, talking, and playing again, just over a month after the hit-and-run.
The report said the family also received support from the community through online fundraisers and other help. Over the weekend, Lawrence brought Isaiah to church for the first time since the crash.
“It felt so good to make it to church yesterday morning.”
Lawrence said.
Investigation Led Police to Borgata, Report Says
The Atlantic City casino connection in the case comes through the police investigation.
Court documents referenced by NBC10 said investigators relied on surveillance footage to identify and track the vehicle allegedly involved in the crash. The vehicle was later located at Borgata Hotel and Casino.
NBC10 reported that a 67-year-old Long Island man has been charged in the case. Besides, the source report did not specify the exact charges or identify the next court proceeding.
The outlet also quoted a neighbor, Tonya Tolliver, questioning why the driver did not stop after the child was struck. Tolliver said,
“What was so important at that casino that you couldn’t stop for a child three years old?”
Key case details remain limited in the source report, including the suspect’s name and the precise charges. Thus, this remains an early-stage legal matter based on police and court-document accounts.
