When you think of casino gambling, there is little doubt that blackjack is among the first games mentioned.

In New Jersey, BetMGM is capitalizing on the game’s popularity by introducing a new variant of it.

The online gambling company announced recently that it would introduce Double-Up Blackjack to the NJ online casino landscape.

Thanks to a partnership with Score Gaming, which specializes in creating and designing table games, Double-Up Blackjack – a product of the in-house Entain Win Studios – “takes traditional blackjack to the next level,” according to a press release.

How Double-Up Blackjack puts a twist on traditional game

New Jersey players can now find Double-Up Blackjack at BetMGM Online Casino NJ and Borgata Online Casino NJ.

As detailed by BetMGM, Double-Up Blackjack offers players the chance to double their bet on any two-card hand, aside from a natural blackjack. To “double-up,” you place an additional wager of any amount up to the original bet.

According to the press release, Double-Up is built around Score Gaming’s propietary End 16 rule, “which enhances the game by ensuring players can win, but can never lose when the dealer has 16.”

In addition, Double-Up Blackjack features a new side bet option, known as 16 Bonus. Here, the bet wins when the dealer’s cards add up to 16. How much is won is based on how many cards it takes the dealer to reach that total, with payouts of up to 500x.

Double-Up Blackjack ‘strengthens’ offerings of BetMGM, Borgata

Double-Up Blackjack made its land-based debut in 2012. Today, according to the press release, over a third of casinos feature multiple Double-Up games on their floors.

Now, the popular land-based game arrives at NJ online casinos.

“Double-Up Blackjack offers a twist on the classic game and adds another layer of excitement for players,” Oliver Bartlett, vice president of gaming product at BetMGM, said in a statement. “Double-Up Blackjack further strengthens the variety of our table game offerings that feature in-house produced titles from Entain, as well as great partners like Score Gaming.”

Added Merrill Sparago, founder and president of Score Gaming:

“Score Gaming shares in BetMGM’s excitement and looks forward to collaborating with BetMGM to bring a consistent stream of new End 16 content to the online space.”

BetMGM continues to pad its NJ online casino portfolio

One of the industry leaders for online casinos in New Jersey, BetMGM has been aggressive in expanding its portfolio in the Garden State of late.

Most recently, the operator welcomed in Relax Gaming, which will make its US debut in New Jersey as “RLX Gaming” to integrate an expansive archive of titles.

Around the same time, BetMGM announced the launch of NHL Gold Blitz, the first-ever NHL-endorsed online slot game.

This all came on the heels of BetMGM developing and launching MGM Bonus City, an “innovative online Hybrid Dealer game” as well as tapping into our nostalgia by introducing Borgata Arcade.

What else does BetMGM have in store? Because surely they are not done.
